Bruce Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 have you got any photos of your restorations that you would care to share? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 22, 2012 Moderators Posted June 22, 2012 I have on ebay at the moment an early 90's Malvern Star Triathlete. Theres an old steel recycler and bikeshop I visit; I'll keep an eye out. Quote
pauly_adams Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 if you post up some pics of what they look like it will help, a mate of mine has a pile of bikes over 6 foot high and 10-15 foot wide of bikes he would be more then happy to get rid of some Quote
zzzzed Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I have an old BSA and some other English bike. Both from the 60's I am guessing. Postsge might hurt though. Quote
chris240 Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 crikey thanks for the positive support fellas , I was half expecting to get flamed for talking about old bikes... :: okay then meet some of my girls.. the red apollo 3 is 85% complete , the lilac apollo 2 I picked up from the recycle tip yesterday and I was stoked with the condition. The blue sebring I bought sight unseen, and needs severe work...the money you spend on old bikes is usually double to tripple what the end value could be....worse than zeds !! the pics of the yellow apollo 3 dont do it justice, all components where stripped down checked, some replaced, some washed and finally polished before reasembly .. mossy Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I'm loving the old bikes too Chris, except I'm into the old BMX bikes. Quote
pauly_adams Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 ill have a look tomorrow for you at my mates house, as for old bmx i miss my old mongose and my torker flipside, they just dont make bikes like that anymore, nothing like a full chromolly frame there just so light and shiney Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 23, 2012 Moderators Posted June 23, 2012 I'm still on the lookout for an old 88-89 Shogun Prairie Breaker team Issue (Red, Black and White/ Chrome frame paintwork) if anyone has spoted one! Oh Chris, I have a smallish box of some old 88-90's brakes and derailleurs if you want... I can take a pic and let me know..for free of course! Pic of bike I'm after..and similar condition if possible! If anyone can find one, there will be a nice pair of lens covers with the chrome trim in it for ya... Quote
chris240 Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Perfect timing Dim, tomorrow I was going to attempt to remove the surface rust off the old diacomp brakes.. The good thing with bike components is that the prices of shimano and to some extent campagnolo gear has plumeted in the last 10 years..its a shame that new gearboxes havent come down Yep , The price on early series mongooses have skyrocket....hence why I stick to Mainstream road bikes. RB30X Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Not really an original but here is a pic of my old rat rod push bike that I made from a few bikes. It was so long I had two bikes chains joined together. http://instagr.am/p/MPV9LClVQg/ Quote
