260DET Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 16th and 21st are the days I anticipating going, depending on the weather of course. There usually is a Zed or two there but more is always a good thing Note the edit, some duffer got the months mixed up Quote
260DET Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Reminder, sprints on this coming Saturday PM at Lakeside. Weather looks promising, please Mr Sunshine Quote
Jk_zeder Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 You should be alright, Lakeside seems to run on its own weather system I won't be back up there until Aug 18th? I think it is for Round 3. Quote
dat2kman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Weekend just gone, saw John McKeon in his red and yellow liteweight marque sports 3.2 litre injected 240 get absolutely hammered by a tiny little Datsun 2000Sports. Stan Adler in the 2.7 Carrera won all events. It was a full on race meeting, with historic sports, prod spirts, clubmans and others. Oh, and no the Dato Sports 2000 was not mine, but another, also in original as raced way back in the day spec! Quote
260DET Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 You need to look at the fastest lap times before getting carried away Jason, McKeon was doing in the mid 62's which Richard Graham for one did at LapZ in his targa Z, which as we know is pretty mildly tuned. The 2000 was doing in the 61's which is not bad but far from being something to get too excited about. From memory Lee Falkner got down into the 59's at LapZ although he was using slick tyres. Quote
dat2kman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Historic cars on old fashioned size tyres, McKeon was running on old concrete slicks. Not much point us Hysteric guys getting all super sticky slick shod, for the odd lap dash event. Henderson's 2000 Sports is on par with mine, we are racing at Eastern Creek June 30/july1, then at Morgan Park Historics July14/15, we have a ripper of a time dicing with the bigger HP group S cars. peter t Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Will drop in tomorrow to have a look but as yet too nervous to take the car on the track. Quote
260DET Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Will drop in tomorrow to have a look but as yet too nervous to take the car on the track. There are cruise days where you do laps at a restricted speed, good way to learn the circuit. Alternatively enter a sprint as a beginner and you will be put in the slowest group. Getting started is the hardest bit Quote
260DET Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Beautiful day today, warm sun and a cool breeze, ideal. Only other Zed there on the sold out day was Martin in his 300ZX who laps very consistently in the 60's. My Zed ran faultlessly and on the Federal semis I managed a PB banzai lap of 59.86 using the new transponder timing system which I am rapt in, always wanted to do a 59, yea Fastest road registered car too I think. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?16/06/2012.LAKE.P1 Took some video so if there is anything interesting I'll put it up on YouTube in due course and link it. zed74 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Mmm Don't think Lee Falkner will be going down the inside under the bridge anymore! Great time & well done mate Quote

260DET Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Check out Nev's S30 time the other day, note that the supposed road class Porker was using cheater Hoosier two groove tyres. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?21/06/2012.LAKE.P1 Quote
