BobsYourUncle Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Model: 1974 260z 2+2 Location: Gold Coast Item Condition: Fair, good project base Body: Previous owner said that he removed rust properly, replacing with sheet metal - no way to verify how good a job he did without removing paint, but a magnet sticks everywhere. Some rust evident on driver's door. Mechanical: L28 (N42/N42) running well with flat-tops, compression tested at 165-170 PSI for all cylinders. I converted to manual, and have probably only put a couple of hundred K's on since. 280zx 5-speed in good condition, shifts well, stays in gear, no whining. New exedy clutch (basic model), new clutch master and slave. I've also installed new plugs, new leads, new bosch ignition coil, and new fuel filter. The car has electronic ignition. I adjusted the valve clearances/tappets a few months back (replaced the timing cover gasket while I was at it), so it runs pretty quiet (except for the cannon-style muffler/exhaust tip, which I've never liked). I've also installed new rear brake drums and re-bonded shoes. Currently running Hilux calipers with solid 260z discs, however these aren't included in the sale - I'll be putting the original rotors back on next weekend (with brand new pads). Price and Payment Conditions: $4000 negotiable Registration: Currently registered until 01/07/2012, but selling unregistered as I don't think it would pass roadworthy - has a scratch in the windshield from the wiper, and hand brake is in need of adjustment - it doesn't quite hold the car on steep hills (which will probably mean either shortening the linkage, or a new cable, as it's currently at max adjustment). Extra Info: The interior needs work (see photos in my build thread, link in signature). Has a dash cap. New boss kit and horn button. I've installed black dragon euro-style headlights (using the black dragon loom/relays). Tacho doesn't work (not sure why, don't think it's the tacho itself, I've tried a different one), and clock only works occasionally.
