Hey guys,

My Zed is a 1971 240 with Chassis No. HS30-00353

Doesn't have to original l24 in it but.

So my question is should I try and keep it original is this a rare or rarer ??? zed?

I was going to put bolt on flares on it but should I go hacking the original panels?

Given that it doesn't have the original engine and that its yours, you do with it as you please.

If you want to put it on a Hilux chassis, its your choice...............

If you do want to keep it original, have you got any chance of tracking down the original L24? Does the previous owner know where it is? Sometimes stuff like that gets stashed at the back of sheds etc.

If there is no hope of that, then the biggest part of originality is lost, so do as many mods as you like.

Yeah no hope of tracking it down. I bought the zed about 8 years ago, no idea off of who.

Had it resprayed and it has sat there until now.

I'm about to start putting goodies into it, probably start a build thread soon too :)

Zed were made in large numbers. I know some like to have an early car due the faults/or they are the first version with the original quirks etc but we are not talking about Z432 here in which there were 340-420 made (again 40years on this is a bit grey and limited info out there) now that IMHO is worth making sure it is a matching number car.
