aussie240z Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi all Am after a vernier adjustable top cam sprocket for an l24. Can anyone recommend oz suppliers retail and generally known to hold stock? Need to get one early this week. Also interested if anyone has one unused if wanting to sell. Appreciate any recommendations. Location isn't an issue as will freight as needed Thanks in anticipation Ian Quote

dat2kman Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I'm back this Saturday, will get some pricing and pics up asap, supply is very good, ie I order on a Monday, I have them by Friday, posted to you following week. Only hassle is exchange rates and I can only order in smallish quantities otherwise Aus customs slaps duty and long delays on stuff, this happened recently with a largish order of pistons and con rods recently GGGRRRR! luvemfast Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Yer, I think that I should put one on the new motor being built. Peter Mac "encourages" me to put more and more go fast parts on............ I mean, he really twists my arm Quote
dat2kman Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Look to reducing rotating and reciprocating weight, and the things that ave to go up, stop, and go down a lot of times a minute, the other go fast stuff helps to enhance this. I pulled 14 kilograms of weight out of engine internals, using stock crank, forged pistons and rods and a STEEL flywheel. Do not contemplate using the cast iron fly! Quote

Wowsers I'd like to know what Im pulling out of mine now...... I've got a steel fly to take a Sachs clutch. Let me know $$$ for the cam sprocket when you can Quote
DatPilot Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Can anyone please provide an explanation as to what an adjustable cam gear does (and if it has any place on a stock-cammed L6...) Just incase a newbie reads this and wonders what to do! Quote
