Newcastle area Datsuns wrecking?collection? In a front yard?

Anyone in Newcastle Sydney area heard of a yard full of old Datsuns " sports" type cars and possibly other makes?

It is on the road just past the Williamstown air force base which is off Tomago Nelson bay roads?

A fellow traveller here in my o/seas trip just mentioned it, he reckons it is mainly older Datsuns and sports cars???

 

It is clearly visible from the road apparently, lots of long grass, it is a private property and not a wrecking yard/ commercial operation

Some pics and a heads up could be useful for some on here??

Yep, there was a yard with a pile of zeds on the Medowie - Nelson Bay road, maybe 10 - 20 of them ??

 

Was quite a while ago, last time I recall seeing them was at least 10 years ago, probably more. I'm pretty sure (99%) they have gone now. I'll go that way next time I head up to the bay and check.

 

There is another place in the same area which looks a bit more commercial and is full of all sorts of mercs.

Most of them have gone, the fellow who picked them up scrapped most of them as they were all basket cases. Salvaged everything that could be used or restored a couple of years ago.

We live in 2011 LOL, no need to drive down, I just did a Google maps sat recon of the area around the air base along that road.....

 

Nelson Bay Road, Williamtown, New South Wales

 

As far as I can see, NUDDA I'm sorry to report, but maybe someone else may have a keener eye than me.

Good idea - this looks to be the place full of mercs.

 

Still can't tell if its commercial or just some mercedes nutter with too much yardspace 

 

Google searach doesn't seem to show any merc wreckers / workshops in the area ?

And this, I think, is the "Z" graveyard. Still seems to be a few hidden away down the back ?? They used to be clearly visible in the front yard from the main road, so I would assume the owner wasn't interested in selling any as plenty of people would have known about them.

 

From memory, the ones you could see were pretty much basket cases though - just random lumps of cars covered in long grass, just rusting away.

I think this has turned out to be a brilliant idea,

 

We should start a thread which links to Sat images of locations for abused Zeds, i.e. If someone passes one and see's it in distress parked off suffering a cancerous death they should post the link after looking it up so potential Zedophiles might have a crack at getting to it.

 

Sure a lot easier than trying to get an address etc.

Here you go - a red 300ZX with South Australian plates been sitting in a laneway in Newcastle for quite a while, grass growing up around it. Workmate alerted me to it, but its too modern (and too big and probably too fast) for me.
