Hi,

What are the two switches on a SR20 box. One would be the rev gear but what is the other one. Thanks for any help. 8)

Not sure but I reckon bottom connector in the extension housing is for the speedo, the top switch in the extension housing is a neutral switch and the one towards the front of the box is the reverse light switch.

They look the same as the ones on my Navara box and in the same locations.

You should be able to tell if you have a multimeter and measure which switch is closed when you select different gears.

Cheers

Thanks the neutral one is the one I won't be using. Speedo drive has to be changed to cable type which is under control.  :DU

Just the way I went on the advise of members on this site. It is in and running and I am quite happy with it. The short shift is awesome and does modernise the old dear.

Why use an SR box instead of an RB?

for 240z it is a better setup (those factor fitted with a A box) as it put the shifter location very close to the A box location, however the drive shaft does need to be modified for this setup.

Later 240z and 260z the RB put the shifter location in the same place as factory - however the stock B box shifter has a bend it in most RB are straight so the lever will end up a bit forward vs standard but there are other shifter that can be used that have a bigger bend in them etc.
