C.A.R. Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Awsome!! More RB zeds. Im guessing you already know about the easy engine mounts and sump? Care to enlighten us mate? BTW, shit hot news Ash! Where from & how much? Quote
sco_aus Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Last I heard they can still be sourced through Nissan. So basically for those who dont know, the 200ZR was released in Japan as a Z31, but with a RB20DET. This means that engine mounts were made to suite both Z and RB. Also since the sump from a normal RB hits the front crossmember and rack, they made a sump and pickup to suite. Unfortunately I dont have the part numbers, but like I said, i believe it can all be sourced through Nissan Gen Parts. I actually got mine from "Drunkenmaster" who I doubt has any more, but would probably be able to point in the right direction. End rant. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 you can source the part no's off of hybridz, just do a search, has mounts. oil pickup and orings etc. if you are any good at doing rust repairs you could cut and reweld the sump body back tho the flange @ 180deg, like a fellow did here in adelaide. Also from my discussions with him i think he just had to slot one engine mount and also the gbox mount. nato Quote
C.A.R. Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I was aware of the sump & pick-up from the 200ZR, but not the mounts. I have a link on my other PC - shall upload later. Edit, found it: http://nissanpacific.com/reference/rb/ Quote
zr240 Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 I am hoping to put the motor so the back of the head is basically touching the firewall and I have to make engine mounts, gearbox mounts and make the sump a bit bigger to fit an extra ltr of oil. I will also have to get the tail shaft shortened a fair bit. As this will be a circuit only car I can be a bit more creative as I dont have to worry about engineering etc. Ash Quote
sco_aus Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Althought the engine isnt in at the moment, I know my engine sits really far back with these engine mounts, so its very close to the fire wall, i will upload the only pic i have later from the other computer (the pic is on there). Quote
JP Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Hi Ash, James here, its been a long time. I'm interested to know what your plans for the RB are? Are you still thinking about running carbs or was just a passing thought? I know a few of the cars around here (Japan) run RB25DE with triple carbs, but they seem to do that with a few cars. sco_aus: How is your conversion coming along? My email account went inactive when the car club that hosted it moved hosts, so I lost all my emails and addresses. Quote
sco_aus Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Yeh good thanks, rebuilding the engine at the moment and loking at a few other things like power steering and have already done a coilover conversion. Heaps happening, but im nearly done mechanically now so cant wait until its done. Quote

I had a few headaches I havent resolved with my coilovers when I got my initial inspection. He wanted some sort of certification for the grade of the welding which didnt make much sense to me. I hope to get really stuck into mine when I get back home at the end of the year. Being away so much over the last 3 years has really left no time for the car  Quote
sco_aus Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Hahaha, you've got PM , sorry to hijack the thread Quote
