Guess I thought i should join after being a "casual observer" for some time...

Also I felt a little guilty for pushing 24 DAT into the "firing line" :) by suggesting he join the forum & offer to purchase a reskinned dash :o :-X

My history

First Z car purchased 1990 (1977 Gold 260z 2+2) and enjoyed the "old station wagon" even giving it a full nut & bolt restoration etc. Sold early 2001

Second Z was purchased approx. 2001 (modified V8 1973 Red 240z) I think a current forum member now owns (George?) I Kept it 3 years - but finding Avgas & street driving was somewhat dodgy! 8) Sold approx. 2004

Third Z was acquired 2004 & still owned (converted my mum's road going 1974 260z into Tarmac Rally car) My father & I competed in Classic Adelaide 2004. Car has been in several tarmac rallies since (2005- Adelaide, 2007 - Rally of Classics Willowbank, 2008 Adelaide) Entered for Targa High Country 2011.

Fourth Z was bought 2006 (1972 240z) fully restored (sandblasted etc) and conversion to 240ZG track car - full roll cage etc - currently undergoing modifed L series engine development & suspension rework.

Yea yea - I know!

The Shannon's event at QR back in 2008 was heaps of fun & geez those V8 mustangs didn't like being out-braked & hassled mid corner!

we can get it ready and compliant with the prod sport 2A regulations so you can come and upset the modern cars with me.....

Yea - sounds like a lot of fun.

Just need Jim Milliner to spanner my new injected "screamer" L28 engine together & acquire/complete my new AZC suspension package :)

If only my sons did not need a "private education" my motorsport fund would look healthy :'(

State Schooling never did me any harm, and i can almost count to twentyeleven and I know my acb's.

As for the new screamer, well, you'll have to wait until Jim sorts out a couple of niggles with my truck motor.....

But if you are looking at having a play in Prod Sports, get the rule book out to make sure it's all Ok for group 2B, I know my way around the rule book in terms of Zeds and compliance.

Welcome,

Good to see another track zed.  Where did you find your G-nose from out of interest as I want to build a ZG down the track? Nice looking zed, yep get out there in Marque sports and harass those overweight American contraptions ;D

Posted

Thanks Brabham

Bought the ZG nose on ebay a few years back.

It was the 2 piece replica & took a fair amount of work to fit right.

Actually, I was interested to note someone on this forum is looking at producing a carbon fibre version! My first one has actually been damaged - so time to upgrade!

Did the lime green colour as it was a colour used in 1972 + maybe I can get some Corona beer sponsorship ;D

Welcome mate.

We are going to have to be a bit careful about flaming any new members on this forum, as a lot from the QLD Z Club will be joining soon...

Yea - 24 Dat should be able to encourage some action on that front! :)

He has some official duties & as this site is very open/informative - our membership would benefit greatly.

Slowly hassling them onto here - forums are just very foreign to a lot of the guys.

Yes - it was Supercharged - never really performed to expectations (did about the same times as my 260Z tarmac car - with 5 year old engine, at Bathurst FOSC meeting in 2010! :'() & has since been removed awaiting a "serious" 8000+ rpm screamer fuel injected L28 (under development)  + removed suspension/brakes to go with "lighter" AZC options.

Sorry, will have my 260Z tarmac car there as the 240z engine programme delayed due to floods + suspension removed awaiting AZC items

All good things take time - I think as members "pick up the vibe" more will contribute or will use the collective knowledge of this forum.

Correct - don't know when the old man is retiring - took me 2 years to just beat his times at Lakeside Raceway! :o He is doing pretty well for 77y.o. driving a 550HP monster RB30 Turbo 260Z
