luvemfast Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 These used to be sold by Neil Cartlidge a decade ago. With Neil's permission, I have re-modelled these to be made available for sale. I now have some Block braces / Girdle's in "stock" to suit an L6. They are custom made, laser cut from high tensile steel. Very nice bits of gear. Think of it as cheap insurance for your engine. For all of those people complaining about leaking rear mains............ Thats due to crank flex. This also makes the entire block more rigid, increasing durability and performance. Neil swore they moved the harmonic vibration up the rev range. Street or race spec engines will benefit by the correct fitment of one of these. You can either use ARP studs, or some have been using Unbrako capscrews coupled with hardened washers. $180 + delivery (1 was sent to tassie, registered for $20) donation to site from each sale Photo's to come Simon Quote
Whittie Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 might not be neccesary at 7500rpm, but for $200 bucks I won't notice it along side my budget blowouts... I'll send PM this weekend for more details. Quote
ozconnection Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 How can we get one? Name, address, payment method(s) please? Quote
dazzed Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Pete Mac has fitted plenty of these with supersonic results in his engines Quote
luvemfast Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Pics PM me if interested Thanks, Simon Quote
nizm0zed Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 excuse my ignorance, but where does it bolt in? just around the sump mounting bolts? Or is it tied into the main caps too? (and why couldn't you sell these while i was building my motor? Now i'll have to do it in the car) Quote
mossy Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Could be interested Simon, just not sure if it would benifit me in a street driven L28, I'll have to ask Peter and let you know. Quote
peter mc Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 yes they do bolt to the mains you do req 14 10.5 mm spacers all so for the main caps, all so you will need longer bolts for your sump as the plate is 6mm thick .all strong L motors will benefit from a stronger bottom Quote

Aaron Neubauer Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Any idea if these will fit a LD28 stroker motor? Quote
luvemfast Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 It's a replication of an old design that has been fitted with striker cranks. Quote
