zeds4ever Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 My Grandson has a Suzuki Vitara which has a scored windscreen caused by a crook wiper blade. Is there any way that I can remove this marking without having to replace the screen itself. His next car will be a Datsun 260 after he learns to drive this thing. Ha Ha. Regards : Alan. Quote
620Z Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Someone could buff it out maybe. But by the time they spend doing that it might be cheaper to get a new screen. Quote
Scoota G Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Mine had the same problem but after a year the wipers actually buffed them out. Try cutting the new blades just a smidge longer if it's on the outer edge. Quote
luvemfast Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I've never scored my windscreen before............... scored on a bonnet though, but that's a different story Does he have screen cover under insurance? Lots of policies cover one screen replacement a year. Quote
BobsYourUncle Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I'm told if the scratch is deep enough to be felt with your fingernail, it can't be buffed out. What's the going cost to get a 260z windscreen replaced? Is it expensive/difficult due to the age of the car? My 260's windscreen has been scratched quite badly by old wiper blades, and eventually I was planning on replacing it... Quote
Scoota G Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 What's the going cost to get a 260z windscreen replaced? $200 fitted at Windscreens O'brien, i'm getting one fitted tomorrow as they seriously fudged up the first one. Quote
