WTB: Thrust Bearing to suit 240Z

Hey Guys,

 

After a thrust bearing to suit 240z Gearbox and correct clutch, anybody have one or know the part number from nissan??

I don't know the part number, but I remember doing this job on my 260z and I walked into East Coast Auto down in Ormond area and just asked for the part. Seems to be a pretty common part, so should be able to get it without too much drama. Don't think it makes a difference if it's genuine Nissan part of not.

I have an aftermarket part number.

 

Clutch Kit NSK6052.

sorry should of been more clear i will be running a 240 box with a NSK6097HD Clutch Kit, just need the thrust bearing and carrier,

Just did a bit of research on this http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7830.msg74609.html#msg74609

NSK6097 is a later style 47mm deep clutch so you will need the later model slightly longer carrier (53mm).  MSA carry them (and probably most every other clutch shop).

If your 240z trans has it's original carrier it will be the shorter one.

The new bearing ive got is 20mm tall which carrier should i go for?? Using an NSK6097-HD Clutch Kit

Benny, haven't tried to buy one myself yet I'm just going on what I've read.  Given you are after the later longer style then asking for one to suit a 280zx should do. Take a tape measure with you when you buy it and measure it.  Look at what MSA describe http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PCC08/21-2122

the 280zx carrier is supposedly this nissan part number- 30501-N1600 and is 28mm which only gives 48mm total!!
