has anyone fitted these to their 260z coupe [even 240z] with say 205/55/16 up front and say 225/50/16 rear? I don't want to go flares but do want max stance inside the cars body line.

Was thinking of getting them without flares and was wondering if they would stick out/look stupid without flares or they would just tuck in. I have seen Rota RB 16x8 +4 without flares and they look good but are tight without flares and with tyres as above; These superlites will be 8mm further out due to the offset difference [4+4] and was wondering if this will be too much width without flares.

i understand that they will 'go on as such but am more concerned about how much they will stick out. I guess roll is probably needed.

Any input appreciated.

G'day Pedro, I've fiited some on mine, and basically we gave it a big roll job with a guard rollar to get them under. It ended up with mini(tiny)-flairs and I'll be using a fair bit of camber as well to get them under the front with 225/50 but with 205's they should fit a lot easier. With the standard guards they stuck out around 10-20mm both front and rear with 225/50 tyres.

My tyre guy said the Superlites only came in the 1 offset, so that's what I got. I was told the Rota's will fit under better, but I got these new for nix, so that ruled out the Rota's, lol. If your after Semi-slicks/race tyres the 205 and 225's in 16's are very well catered for as it is the major size used by the classic tarmac rally guy's.

I think Dimitri (Zedman240) has them or has used them in the past as well?

Yep, I have them on my 240 now. I'm running 225-50 tyres and the sidewall just sticks out around 5mm or so from under the lipped arches. I do get some rubbing from the fronts while turning and going up a driveway but not major. Best pic I can find for now is below...let me know if you need one from the top or another angle..

Hmmm, scary trying to figure rim sizes and if they will fit before you get them!

Very interested in how this turns out - I have a set of 16's that are boxed up at the manufacturer for delivery this week for my 240.  Due to the concern about fitting I have chenged from 8 inch all round to 7.5 inch at the front. The guy who sorted out the wheels has ordered them with 4 something! But when I find out the exact figures I'll post here as I pity anyone else trying to figure the right way to go on this.

Not sure; I'll have to check if I have added any extra caster or not. Also have to check where it rubs while turning and going up a driveway. 215 - 205 tyres may be the best option to eliminate any clearance issues

You replied in your first quote that the wheels did scrub on the  fenders when going down the driveway and reversing out of your garage imagine what they do on the track???

if you drive a road car tell me what is the great benefit of running huge tyres , i tell you there isnt any you go backwards big time . may look tough but the handling characteristics are compromised so why bother

I've run the car several times at the track and have yet to hear any rubbing at all. 225 tyres aren't' that wide at all; you would be right if a had fitted 245 or even 255. My zed isn't scraping the road; it's actually pretty high compared to other zeds I see at the MSCA events. It mainly rubs on full lock and I think its due to the lip on the front guards being a tad out of shape due to some other wheels that were on the car before I got it. What size tyres are on your zed Daniel?

pic of mine with 15 x 8 and 225/50 x15 rubber, front guards are fine, rear guards have had a bit of lip trimmed from 10 o'clock to 2 o' clock

All works well.

Note to lurch, this is when I am not in Historic group S mode !!!!

My 18x8's with 230/650/18 slicks don't rub, but do catch the left guard when I have any lock on the steering, the front spoiler is not on the car and I'm reversing into the garage.

When going slowly and putting heaps of lock on to warm the fronts I do scrape on the back edge of the spoiler with any of the slicks I use, anything from a 225 to 235 wide, but more importantly diameter of 630-650. If possible I try to get a 230/650 slick as this gives me about the most clearance I can for the slightly pumped fronts.

That look's like the one we used, but a lot cheaper. I'm a bad example, because the car is being panel beated and repainted, so we weren't to worried about being nice on paint etc, also my guard lips were cracked, so we tig'd them up after they were stretched which might effect things as well. Basically we found it would go as far as you wanted!, I used wheel spacers on the last few passes to push it out that last bit. The roller has been posted to Sydney for a mate to use on his Capri, and he pumped the guards around 10-15mm to get his superlites under. Hope this helps?

Simmons arrived, old Z guy who used to fit Zeds for years prescribed:

Front: 16x7.5 (0 offset) Rear: 16x8 (-6 offset) AND 4 1/3 backspace all round. All I can say is...DISH!!! Hope this helps.
