Scoota G Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I've done a bit of a search and surfed a bit but does anyone have any info on the E31 head? Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Used on the early 240Z's. Mine is off the engine currently - so if you want any info/photos let me know Quote
Scoota G Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 Just some stats and such buddy, sems dalee's parts car has one. Quote
Roberto Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6012.0.html It's all here in the sticky post "Overview of L-series heads". Essentially they are the 240Z head: Small chamber, smaller valves and higher compression. Quote
Scoota G Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 I think that pretty much covers it actually as dale and i were just curious about the cylinder head. It came as a bit of a surprise that the motor in the his parts car was fitted with one, it sounds really strong and i can't wait to fit it and see what it gets along like. Thanks guys. Quote
NZeder Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 the only issue with E31 these days is finding a good one - ie one that has not had too many large heat cycles and is still uniformly hard across the whole head. If I was looking for a head I would go N42 or the EFI E88 head from the L24E power skyline you guys got in OZ. I believe these E88 heads are like a E31 but have the larger E88 valves and are newer casting = not as old. Quote
