HOW DARE YOU >:( Why don't you read the introduction of listings first before you try to peddle your crap here, hey. How many times do we have to do the same things and point stuff out to the stupid people. Nick Orf. (P.S. Me luv Zeds)

Hey Scoota are you sure he isn't asking about it being a good buy and wants your expert appraisal ,  as he lives in MelbOOrne and the car is in the ACT.

As he doesn't know the spelling of Melbourne this could be a legitimate request.

Lets face it most federal pollies don't acknowledge the existance of life outside of the ACT...lol

I don't wanna start a flame war on my first freaking post, but i read the 2 sticky threads on what do, and as you might of missed it, there's a thread dedicated to cars listed on 3rd party websites.

i've also read numerous posts simply referring to other z's, without pics/item number or pretty much anything, yet you still go off at me?

good god, you are a prick < no idea how much content i've deleted, haha, and it gets modded, cool!

and if that's how this entire forum would view my post, then this is honestly the worst forum i've ever been on.

trying to calm down, all i wanted was an opinion on a good project car i could get my teeth into, just coming out of uni, and this car looks like it has some potential growth to be had.

only 30,000 Km,

already manual,

haha, and them's my boxes ticked?

poverty, it's inversely proportionate to pickiness :P

Well there's no reserve so sweat it out for 6 days, it looks fairly straight, probably good for a long term project, then ask the fellas here who own 280s' questions about it as you go

if you do pick it up can i buy the venetians off you? been looking for some for ages. the seller was a prick when i asked nicely for them :S lol

Scoota obviously didn't understand that this guy was just asking if it was worth buying. Even if it was just some guy selling his Z I think his reaction was inappropriate.

Alpha_goat you must understand 90% of your thread makes you look like some guy who's made an account and posted just to sell his car. If you had named it something like "Would this be a good first 280zx?" then this could have been avoided. Can't blame you for not knowing this. It does look like a good 280.

The seller says in the ad:

straight rust free car
I am very skeptical of this and you really need to inspect it to see if it's true. If it is relatively rust free and mechanically OK then it could be a great buy.

As a rule of thumb I would much rather have you report a post than post an angry message at the poster.

I messaged the guy to ask if I can take a look it as hes 5 mins away, and the answer was a clear cut NO, as he works 7 days a week...hmmmmm

Posted

Well he COULD work 7 days a week Chris, you'd have to inspect one evening, did you ask that? keep trying

Looking at the photos I'd say the first owner looked after this 280 and probably the second owner if there was one before this seller got it, and his eBay feedback is consistent with this 280 add, meaning he's been selling vehicles under $1,000, feedback is 100% as well

But check out the panel gaps, pretty even, don't look like the bonnet or hatch have ever been off it also the car looks complete, If I was right into these ugly 280s' I'd be having a good go at winning that auction

Hey Fellas,

What about the kid, I mean Goat, I mean Kid .... you know what I mean (V)?  This was his dream to build this up.  FFS, there are other ways to get a motor or venetians!

Please take a step back, help and encourage the young fella and watch him become a valuable member of our community (even if his taste is cars isn't quite perfect - at least it's not a Ford!!).  Let this young fella have this one and you guys get together and get the next one.

Scoota, a quick 'sorry mate' wouldn't be wasted.

venetians aren't a problem. I have a whale tail coming my way. MaygZ I only recently turned 19, i'm on my third Z atm. all paid for by a casual job at coles/short lasting concreting job.

There are always z's out there, in my opinion from what i've learned from my first Z and indeed from my current 79 280 is get a car with a rwc atleast. More often then not theres alot of other issues that you will not see by just inspecting the car for the first time/taking the sellers word. The Z's are all very old and despite how much we love them they are prone to problems just like anything of age.

My first Z had to much rust to fix, my 300 had a engine fire, the more hardships you have with something your passionate about the more likely you are to keep perusing it. Reason why women are still part of our lives not just the z's. I'm currently building up my 1979 280zx if you want to give me a hand :P more than welcome to receive encouragement seeing tho all my money for the last year and a half has been going towards keeping my passion alive

I was supposed to look at this car this arvo, but the owner removed it from ebay as he said too many people where bidding then retracting bids, bidding...retracting... >:(

Anyway , he told me to come over on the weekend, as I sound like a likeable chap !
