ozy Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 hey lads, was talking to gav about last weekends classic show in dublin. of course, i forgot to ask him along like a fool considering we had a few zeds, 5 of ours and another 3 elsewhere in the show. again, i was very distracted by the other cars at the show, so i had to take some of the pics from other people of the zeds. anyway, ill stick up the zeds and some others Quote
luxosus Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 What car is this? http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x177/thepreciousprincess/terenure%2009/P1000930.jpg Some nice pics there. Quote
ozy Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 tvr sagaris i believe. love it and i mean i really like that thing. google it. it looks crazy, there are scoops and grooves all over the body that serve no function. the grooves behind the front wheels was intended for something, but the wheels kept throwing up stones onto the windshield, or so im lead to believe. tvr thought they looked cool and closed the gaps but kept the grooves. edit: The multitude of air vents, intake openings and other features on the bodywork allow the car to be driven for extended periods of time on race tracks with no modifications required for cooling and ventilation. The final production model came with several variations from the pre-production show models eg the vents on the wings are filled in not open. copied of wikipedia Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Please tell me you got some more pics from the TVR owners club stand...? BTW, great pics! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 7, 2009 Administrators Posted July 7, 2009 Thanks for sharing mate. I wish I was there Terenure is only 5 mins from Rathmines where I'm living . I heard some nice sounding cars in the background sitting in my flat, I assumed it was boy racers in their 2 door hatchbacks. If only I'd known! . That red z hidden up the back, any pics of that 1? Loved the Ferrari Dino, D-Type Jag (If its indeed a D-type - probably a replica right?) and Panterra DeTomaso. Quote
ozy Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 i just noticed that i had the sam pics repeating in the 1st post, ive sorted that and has 1 close up of that red zed. i got lazy during the show and only took 2 pics of the tvr. im not so mad on the rest of them, but i adore the sagaris, so beautiful. with the long nose, short arse and a reputation for being slippy at the rear, it feels like the Zeds delinquent grand kid! the d-type, thats the green open top thing, its supposed to be a genuine short nose. i think it was one of the 1st d-types and a lad on an irish site (that was involved with the jaguar stand that brought it over) says its worth 5million (not sure if thats euro or sterling...or a modern valuation rather than a few years ago) more pics here http://octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=27703&highlight=terenure and a mate on that site took a few others here http://public.fotki.com/speedy/2009-events/terenure-show/ hope these links work again, im so sorry for forgetting about you gav, would have been great to have ya. i brought a picnic and sandwiches and a flask of tea. it was rather nice Quote
dalee Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I do like the 5 slot mags all polished up on three of those cars. More motivation to finish my set of 14s. Up to 800 w/d still a couple more grades to go. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Thanks for the pics, it's good to see some car shows from different areas. You tend to see the same cars in Aus and American shows Quote

ozy Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Thanks for the pics, it's good to see some car shows from different areas. You tend to see the same cars in Aus and American shows ive only started going to the classic shows in ireland since i got one and im starting to see the same cars at the events. luckily, im still new to it, so as the summer events carry on, the different cliques will pop out and keep surprising me. next year may not be so thrilling. 1 note: the cars with ZV registrations were IMPORTED into ireland after they were 30 years old. so you will note that there are a lot of zv registrations because back in the day, the money wasnt here to but nice cars. so the bog standard cars that did exist led a harsh life and withered or rusted early. so even the old standard cars have a lot of imports. p.s. the grass is always greener on the other side! Ireland when you arrive is rather like planet vulcan, a red fiery surface... yep, sure does Quote

Its funny traveling through the countryside here and I look at the window of the car and everything is just Green, then I think back to Oz and how everything is a shade of brown or yellow. Quote
