I've got a quick question:

Is it normal/typical to have different keys for the doors, ignition and rear hatch on a 240/260? That is, three unique keys? It seems a bit strange to me, like it could mean that locks have been replaced?

Somewhere along the line the barrels have been changed, when new, the key for the doors and hatch all worked together, the ignition key was individual and the glove box key was individual also. Lynton 8)

whilst i only have 1 key for everything, I can only unlock the drivers door but can't lock with a key, and I can't unlock the passenger door but can lock.

So when i park have to get out go around to the passenger door, climb in and reach accross to lock the drivers door and then lock the passenger door.

Pain in the ass...

Go keyless entry!!!

My first Z has 3 keys(1 for doors, 1 for boot and fuel lid and 1 for start).

My second z has 4 keys(1 for doors, 1 for boot, 1 for fuel lid and 1 for start). Though the door locks are all busted so it's time for a change.

One key for doors/boot and one key for ignition here.  I didn't know there where two different keys when I bought the 240 and it nearly drove me insane when I couldn't lock the car when I got to my destination.  I think the bystanders and onlookers were suitably amused by my reaction.  :-[
