hotelbravo Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Light chat, first post I may be a member but unsure of whether I am welcome as my daily driver is a 280zx 1981 targa,I still think that it has the same classical lines as the 240/260 s, albiet slightly longer. Why have you limited the the name to 240/260 cars as their is not a huge difference between the three. My car is white(previously Dark blue)Compression ratios are high 160's get 22mpg around city,28/30 on highway runs using straight unleaded,in last 18 months have replaced Radiator(b----y Expensive) new King springs and shockers,Michelin tyres, tyre rods, repaired dented rails and replaced new fuel pump. Have had the car for 9 years and only the fuel pump has ever stuck me up just a few weeks ago.It starts instantly,280,000ks on clock also had the speedo rebearinged and calibrated. Regards to all Z drivers Hotelbravo Quote

Regards to all Z drivers Hotelbravo[/quote'] Welcome to the forums . I myself dont really mind any Z-car (including the 280zx - L28 rulez). I am really surprised and happy to hear that your car has done 280k and still running strong, it must have been cared really well for by the past owners and yourself. By the way do you have the turbo version? Are you running FI? If yes, then is you injection system stock (other than new fuel pump)? Quote
hotelbravo Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 Yes Blue-leaf it is EFI and automatic, and runs like a clock,One of the easiest cars to tune I ever had. Non turbo, has enough grunt to handle as is. Thanks for your welcome Hotelbravo Quote
Toecutter Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 hi hotelbravo, welcome, by the way your one of quite a few 280ZX owners here so you should'nt feel left out. As far as the 240/260 thing goes its no hard and fast rule its just a site dedicated to early zeds and nice to hear from all. Many of the guys here are running L28's so there's much to relate to. Cheers Sulio Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted February 28, 2006 Administrators Posted February 28, 2006 No problems with the early 280zx's after all we share alot of the mechanicals. I guess there are a few reasons we are a S30 Club and one of the most important is that we don't want to encroach on the NDSOC territory. Sulio and I also felt that more support was needed for early Z owners in Australia. So far I am happy with the results we have members from all over Australia and we seem to be the Z site for Australian Z owners which is great. I don't want to turn away anyone who has an interest in early Z's. The more the merrier. Quote
