mossy Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 I just pumped the clutch pedal about 20 times and the clutch went firm and went into gear fine, the car hasn't been registered since 99 so i don't know if 10 years of sitting around has affected it at all Quote
pauly_adams Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 lol that will do it bleed your clutch it should fix your problem as i had the same thing happen when i bought a parts car. you will need some one to help you, get person a ( a mate or wife/ gf )to pump your clutch about 3 times and get him or her to hold it to the floor, then on the slave cylinder there will be a nipple while the clutch pedal is flat to the floor undo the nipple it should spray out clutch fluid and repeat until all air is out also make sure you keep you clutch master cylinder topped up. hope this helps cheers Pauly Quote
oldmates260z Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 One suggestion with bleeding the clutch, put a hose on the bleed nipple so you can direct the fluid to a jar and not spray it all over the car as it will peel off anything it touches. Also if the hose is clear you can see the air bubbles so you know when you are done. Last thing, make sure with all the pumping you do not empty the reservoir because they you have to do it all again. Quote
