silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Hi, I have posted quite a few times but never sent any pictures of my car until the other day. I didn't think they came out quite as good as they could have so here are some more pictures. My car is really just a fairly stock daily driver. There are some areas that could be improved as can be seen in these photos which are aprox 18 month old. The car now has NT personalised plates (24OUNCE) though I now live in Townsville. She is quite stock and even has original Datsun front & rear mudflaps and the original AM radio. It does however have air horns which I love (sounds like a train) and Hot Wire mags which I know many will consider very bogan, however they have been on the car since 1974 and are true to the period for an Australian car of the 1970's. I think they look okay though I would like to pull them off some time and detail them properly. I hope this works Regards Peter http://i725 http://i725 http://i725 Quote

silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks Lurch I can't make it work, I will wait until my son comes home again (might be days he is out with his girl friend) Regards Peter Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 I can't give up I will try again Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks zzzzed I like it too but it is a bit hot in the tropics...... The tops of the door trims have also copped a fair bit of sun damage and are faded and discoloured. I am going to try to match some upholstery paint to it and give it a light spray and see how it goes, though a friend suggested shoe polish for ladies shoes which comes in heaps of colours. I might look into it and give that a go too if I can find the right colour. Regards Peter Quote
ozy Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 clean baby, lovin the red interior, looks great! sons out with the woman eh? when will they learn! Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 If I was 19 and had a good sort like her .. what can I say? Quote
zzzzed Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 the tops f the door skins and the dash will always be the first to go, my 260 2 seater is the same but i have white interia Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Quite right zzzzed hence mine has a dash matt (standard cracks in the dash) which I won't fix until I leave the tropics. I am not really a fan of the rear window louvre either, S30's look so clean without one. However I am a realist and I keep driving it to work and parking the poor baby in the sun so I am better off leaving it on until I move to a less harsh climatic zone. Regards Peter Quote
C.A.R. Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Very tidy mate! That'd be a nice thing to drive every day Quote
ozy Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 If I was 19 and had a good sort like her .. what can I say? class reply! Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 As can be seen from the photos, the front my car is missing a fair bit of the chrome around the windscreen - most of the passenger side. If anyone can help me source this it would be greatly apreciated. Thanks Regards Peter Quote
zzzzed Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 if you get lost up your end of the country try thease guys http://www.adelaidezcars.com.au/main.php They should be able to help you Quote
silverz Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Glad you like her Lurch. I love driving her to work, I do get some looks, in Darwin young kids used to talk to me about her in car parks they were facinated, never seeing anything like her before. Here in Townsville a guy in a LJ GTR Torana keeps coming up next to me on the way to work and is iching to have me drag him. I need my license too much to try and I think he would blow me away anyway. Sounds quite worked. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 13, 2009 Administrators Posted February 13, 2009 Very clean and original. Silver and Red interior are my favorite combination. I agree leave the rear louvre on for protection, even though I think they look rubbish myself . Hot Wires arn't my favorite but at least they are, as you say period correct. Nice ride. Quote
