matty260z Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I've been a member on here for a while thought I'd finally post my 1976 260z 2+2. And I know the wheels big no no, I'm currently saving for a new set, unfortunately the funds having been going else where - wedding, saving for house, usual stuff. Basic run down on whats been done: Engine: L28ET 1.5mm head gasket, ARP Studs, IHI Turbo off an RX3 race car not exactly sure of size but does job, Haltec E6X fuel and ignition, haltec was controlling the boost but the solenoid died so I now run an E-Boost 2, 550cc injectors, Motec fuel rail, Bosch 044 fuel pump, 600x300x76 intercooler. Thats about the main stuff. Anyways all that gear is currently good enough for 211.9kw atw on 15psi and a stack of torque. Everything else on the car is pretty much like everyones on here. Usual Hilux caliper upgrade up front, DBA slotted and drilled rotors. All the bushes have been replaced with Nolethane items, Whiteline front and rear sway bars. The plan for the car was just a nice quick street car, with maybe the odd track day here and there. Look forward to taking it out with a few of the other Brisbane members on here. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Cheers Quote

Scando Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Very nice looking Z, the colour really suits it. Impressive performance figures too without being overly expensive to setup? Quote
matty260z Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks guys...... I'm planning on rebuilding the engine within the next couple of months. The aim is 300kw atw, also have to change the diff its still the Auto R180 3.54 gears. Quote
RBZ 260 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 nice car. suprisingly i think that shade of gold does suit the car. Quote
620Z Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Looks nice. Shame it's not here in Vic where we could see it on a cruise. Quote
tbscobraZ Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Looks really good. What type of fuel were you using for those figures? Quote
matty260z Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 Just using BP Ultimate...... Was tuned by APC in Brisbane Underwood. Idles and drives just like a standard car, except when you put your foot down. Quote
tbscobraZ Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Good work keep it up. Soon we'll see a 250hp L26. Quote
datsun-jay Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 lovely looking z you have there, go on the 2+2's!!! Jay Quote
sco_aus Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Thats some great figures you have there (oh and the car too , jj), you should throw it on a dyno and get a torque read out, i reckon it would be pumping out some wicked figures there. Quote
waxhead Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Thats a great looking car I think the wheel suit it as well Quote
260z22 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 The colour and the black bonnet looks great (I'll have to keep that in mind) The wheels are a very personal choice and are fine :-\. The engine figures are very very nice, and an agressive air dam to match. All adds up to a nice unit. and then you fit the cheapest Hella box trailer indicators...sorry Subtraact 10 points. Quote
matty260z Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 haha yeah those indicators are pretty gay. Just threw them on to pass roadworthy. I have some nice led ones just haven't had the time to wire them up yet. Quote
260z22 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 GAY!...they're not that bad! I'm glad you are goin' to change them, I can sleep easy now. Look forward to see what you've chosen. No kiddin though, nice unit...avagood1. Quote
. Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I think I met the previous owner. When did you buy it? The previous owner was a little narrow minded but I think he got all the work done properly. If it is the same car just ask All Star tuning if they have the dyno readings for the car. Quote
matty260z Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 I've owned it for a few years now, purchased the zed off a mate, Stu. I followed the build of the motor at All Star Tuning where they did a pretty decent job, just needed a little fine tuning on the Haltech. When I purchased the car it was making 138kw atw and very rough tune. With no extra mods except for the E-Boost 2 APC tuned the car to make 211.9kw atw and runs perfectly. Quote
. Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Well thats a bonus (getting extra horses with little outlay) The engine probably loosened up a bit too. Anyways good luck with it. Any plans to improve it further? Quote
Quandary Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Unless there is another Z around with the same paint job I believe I've seen you around once or twice. It looks great. Quote
