So is anyone actually coming to the next Lounge meet?

So far only Mtopxsecret6 has said he should be there. No one else has asked for the details.

Did I mention that there will be free coffee?

Brad

So your not going to fly back thursday morning and then catch a red eye thursday night?

HA!  ;D You can supply your own beer mate!

You still in?

I'd be there if it was a Saturday. Won't have the zed ready by Thursday  .

You don't have to bring a Z, you can still come along.

My Z will be out of action (Installing new seats) so it will just be sitting there looking pretty.

I am helping out at the mine (Drilling & Blasting) - currently on a 2 week on and 2 week off rotation though still have to work when I am back in Brissi.  We lived in TP for a couple of years more than 25 yrs ago - This dates me.

Watched the first game of the footy season here last night - very good game but some sore people today as they dragged themselves into work.

With all this travel I am not getting time to work on my or my son's Z.  The sacrifices for the $$$.

What seats are you putting in?  We have to get seats for my son's 260z 2+2.  Rodents had been living in the vehicle so the seats had to be completly stripped back to metal.  Now is the question of getting the seats re-built or finding lowest cost replacement.  Cost is the biggest issue - He has just graduated and can't find a job.  A great time to enter the work force!!

Good stuff Orange - Z

I worked for RIO based at Para as a Mechy Fitter / Turner / Line Boring

Not a bad place to live I only ever saw one 240z in TP, a black jobbie with a mongrel 350 Chev in it, most of the guys had old school XY's, XA's, Monaros, HQ's, Mustangs, a couple of 70's Corvettes and Iroc Z's floating around the place and the odd T Model Rod, just before I left a few Silvias and Godzilla type rice jets were making their presence known around the towns..

Anyway have a good one...

Rx7 FD series 8 seats. They look rather similar to the stock seats and have the fold forward operation that we need for the 2+2. Cost me $600 (Seen for cheaper but I got sick of waiting for a pair to come up). I originally bought them as a few write-ups I had see said they were almost bolt in.

They were right, they are almost bolt in, however I found that if I had of done that the front of the seat would be far too high. (My original seats had the rails parallel to the seat and the mounts were lower at the back which created the seat angle. The RX7 seats have the seat angled to the rails so with my mounts they were really angled).

Getting the passenger seat mount welded tomorrow. I will do a write up when I finish.

I will have my original seats after the swap (Ok condition, few rips). Was originally going to keep them as garage chairs, but may be willing to let them go.

sounds good, my weekends are out for the next 3 weeks (cairns, sunshine coast, gladstone) but week nights should be fine for me. Any ideas for a meeting place? Somewhere we could park that is well lit could be nice

Posted

Yeah I'm up for a weeknight meeting depending upon assessment. Prefer a Monday or Wednesday if possible since I train for hockey on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

This week and next week are pretty packed for me. Lots of commissioning the next couple of weeks.

Let me know when it is though and might be able to make it.

Kangaroo cliffs bottom carpark, monday night? IE monday the 25th @ 7:30pm. Their should be plenty of light there i believe, With a scenic back drop for the meet.

Monday nights probably not good for me, I'll be getting back from Cairns early Monday morning form a bucks party so I imagine I'll be quite ruined. Maybe the Wednesday?

I can't beleive that one of your mates is inviting a photographer to his bucks party. That man is game.
