. Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 here is me make sure to watch the run that starts at 3:50 even though my wife says "not quite" I actually broke the beam with the flick which means I was totally successful. The last little adjustment to get in the bay does not count in the time because the beam was already broken. Quote
Zedback Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 It was a cold and foggy morning... No, seriously, it was damn cold and the fog had visibility down to a couple of hundred meters! It had all cleared and warmed up by the time entries closed though. It was a fun day with 2 x S30's, 2 x Z32TTs and an early SP310(?) convertible. The things those guys were doing to the SP310 were frightening, and made a liar out of everything I said about motorkhana being gentle. Still they looked like they were having fund and they were entertaining to watch! Due to the field being split across 2 courses and the nature of the class divisions I barely saw any runs of the S30s. I found out the hard way just how well I had managed to get the 280zx handling, and how used to it I had gotten, compared to the z32 it went round corners! The z32 is a completely different beast, the suspension is worn and stock and it's massively overpowered. So I was leaning towards either wild and out of control or slow and stilted as I tried to figure it out. the other z32 owner was kind enough to capture most of one run, though he got a bit distracted toward the end... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezMR5eeANKI Don't think I'll compete at the dirt event next weekend, the z32 is still a bit fragile. there will be other events coming though and it would be great to see some more Z's of any persuasion. Cheers, Mike Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 very nice work greg do you have times and comparisons with other cars and your other attempts etc? Would be interesting to see how the datto (and maybe the driver ) goes in comparison I'll have to come along to one but my weekends are pretty booked up atm, my photo shoots went well so I've got a fair bit of business coming in the next couple of months. Now do I save it for a house or put it in the zed? Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 oh I'm also doing a shoot in Maleny the first weekend in August. Maybe we could coordinate a drive but it will all depend on my timing with the shoot Quote
Zedback Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 ...which means I was totally successful... Hate to say it Big G but the wife is correct, it's a WD Can't reverse once you've entered the finish garage! Next time go forwards and just flatten the flags!!! Great to see the flick though, wish I'd seen it. I tried one, it doesn't work with the ABS on Quote
. Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I only found out the reverse rule after the run. Had I known I would have just driven forward. There was still a chance I would have missed that flag any way. In a championship event it would have been a WD but they are more forgiving at the come try days. No times yet. Maybe in a couple of days. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 ok who wants to do another week night meet? My weekends are chokas for the next few weeks. I'm thinking next Wednesday the 29th of July at Indooroopilly Shopping Center car park. There shouldn't be many cars around at night, there's very good lighting and we can grab a bite to eat and possibly a drink at the Pig & Whistle. What does everyone think? Quote
dougybe Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Sounds good sushi. I'm in. Lets wait and see response before agreeing details. Quote
garvice Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Probably won't be in. Had a crap week at work this week and next doesn't look any better. Quote

kalium Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'd be keen if I could get my bloody car started.... Quote
garvice Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 No joke!!! Where do you sit? You obviously work here somewhere HA! 3:06pm was my lunch break Greg. Started around 6am and didn't get out of there till just before 6pm. My post must have looked pretty funny though. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Ok so I'm thinking about 730 or 8pm? What does everyone think and who is in? Garvice I'm sure they serve milk there haah no worries And what's wrong with your car Kalium? Quote
garvice Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Garvice I'm sure they serve milk there haah no worries It must be past my bed time, because that comment went straight over my head. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 haha sorry mate, was trying to imply that you are soft Quote
garvice Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 HA! Fair enough. I'll take that one on the chin. Quote
Zedback Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I'll try and make it, but where exactly is it! Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I think if we go in via the pig and whistle entrance to Indooroopilly shopping center, we could try and park at the corner (marked in green) on the map. If there are cars there continue where the arrow is heading and there may be some parks on the right after you go undercover, if not go up one more level (up ramp on the right after going undercover) and park somewhere up there. dougybe Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Sorry guys I am going to have to bail on this one. Have to go away to Marborough for work. Sushi, are you still going to be in Maleny on the weekend? Quote

kalium Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 And what's wrong with your car Kalium? Problem solvered! Something wrong with my fuel pressure. I'd read sometimes that the pressure regulator gets 'stuck' and you can give em a bit of a poke and that fixes em...for a while at least. Seems to have done the trick Quote
kalium Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I have sent you another one Thanks Greg. Will have to throws yours on before mine decides to randomly stuff up again. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 dougybe: yeah not sure what the plan is atm though, I'm thinking about going to the coast friday night then on to maleny on Saturday. So far there is only Steve and myself confirmed and a maybe by zedback. Anyone else? I have had enough dates with Steve and don't need people asking questions if you know what I mean Quote
