Michael Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 here we gio some more stuff done on xmas eve Note it pic one the worst part about spraying outside. .... When bugs fly into the spraypattern and end up in the job. Also note what a quality spraygun can do with no masking at all, I planned on airbrushing the lot but the spraygun handled it exceptionally well, And was able to leave a much neater pattern Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted December 25, 2008 Moderators Posted December 25, 2008 Note it pic one the worst part about spraying outside. .... When bugs fly into the spraypattern and end up in the job. lol....I'd treat it the same as when you find prehistoric bugs in Amber.. You might find some archeologists chipping away at your paintwork. Worst thing to find in your paint job would've been a 12 inch dragonfly... Quote

vipar Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Wow dude. I have finally crawled about of bed after a couple of months of non-stop tears at my self-inflicted loss. Seriously though I am really pleased to see you giving the car the attention it deserves. It will still take a while for me to stop referring to it as 'my car' and sadly I am constantly reminded of how sweet a car it was every-time I take a corner a little two fast or put my foot down in the liberty, it is just not the same. I hope you get the majority of the work done before you get your license so you can spend your hard earned on petrol and not modifications/repairs! Good luck man and I look forward to seeing the car progress. Kendall Quote
Michael Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 G'day Kendall! Good to see you made it on Auszcar.com, yeah the Car has come along way since getting it from ya, But it has ALOT of stuff yet to happen, including (in the near future) Reupholstered Seats, a carbon fibre bonnet from alfa Along with a pair of fiberglass doors, A small hole in the Passenger side floor that ill weld up soon at work, (noticed last night xP) Well theres alot more, But yes, Be sure the car is being well kept and Garaged as i said, anyway time to sleep... lol Worked on the car from 2pm-2:30am then went to work from 4:30-3 zzz... Will be up early tommorow to finish putting the car back together again Thanks for all the good comments guys Michael Quote
Michael Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 All Done! , Well not exactly still couple of minor details till Reg, Including Windscreen, Wiper blades, Front indicators ( old 260z guards ) And a uni joint, * And a Speedo calbe as i left the one in my old 260 xP Woops But Yes all done and ive had a Absolute ball driving the car around on a 28 day permit, The car runs like a dream after fixing a mass of engine and electrical issues Its actually strange that it was running beforehand, But either way with about 140% better grunt then the day i picked it up its running incredible . Anyway heres some pics of the almost finished Zed( "Almost" like they ever are.. ) - Michael Quote

Michael Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 Well Awile Later From last post car is Still awaiting Rwc, Because of a few silly things like seat backs moving and Some other little Issues, But anyway Good news! Yesterday i went And picked up a new set of Used Hurricane's Off Lui off the Forums ( LC260z With the insane White 240z ) The Standard 280zx wheels i had on there were Ok, But just diddnt suit the look i was wanting, And i diddnt want to wreck them by spraying some black on there, Anyway heres some pics Quote
Michael Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 Well after a couple of days of Hard work on the Car's L28E Engine Build and starting to get really into doing it, ( Thread L28E Quick Build) Ive Decided that i will build it up as ifd i was going to use it Whether i do throw it in the 240, Or sell it of buy another Zed and throw it in i have no idea, Just depends on how it comes up i suppose, Anyway Always said Pic speak better then words, So heres some Pics - Todays progress involved General cleaning of parts, Mainly the block being pressure washed, And while i was picking up a mates gernie for the job we struck up a deal im very happy with, Simply my old Rc Gear For a Massive Pod filter, a Shiny Adjustable Blitz Blow off valve, And Also this Big HKS intercooler when he picks it back off one of his mates, hehe L28ET? * Note to self, Set time/date settings on camera... Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 7, 2009 Moderators Posted April 7, 2009 Whatever you do, do NOT change the exhaust; never heard a V6 Commodore with a decent exhaust note! Where abouts in Cheltenham? I work in Moorabbin... Quote
Michael Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 V6 Commodore = Stays As is! And will do until the day i dispose of it Yeah it seems to run ok alright on petrol or gas, Gearbox is a little iffy, But eh $500 got me a bargain Anyway tested paint on the Grill on it today (pics below) Will be 2 tone Black/green Green sticking because of interior, - Only a test thats why paint is so thin, =P The Zed however has made some nice progress, In fact i found this little thing floating around hehe "HKS" =] Intercooler will be tight to mount, But should be able to work something out, Updates will follow Quote
Michael Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Whatever you do, do NOT change the exhaust; never heard a V6 Commodore with a decent exhaust note! Where abouts in Cheltenham? I work in Moorabbin... Right next to Morrabin airport, Like Walking distance down from DFO, ^^ Don't expect to see the zed around atm though uhh.. After having yet a second commodore (a VK Brocky lookalike) Run um the bum of the zed, Ive decided to pul lthe zed of the road and Um Refresh it abit, This time fixing a couple of spots i missed or wansnt fond of. Oh one of those being the paint ^^, Quote
Michael Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 Small update on a few things, Looks like the zed will be Flared with Rb's Running Tripple dellortos Rather then a turbo setup, - Abit Technical for me to do.. Will be retaining Steel guards/doors rather then going Fibreglass, Just to be on the safe side, Will be running a Rollcage that ill bed and tac, then go of to get tig welded before sprayed and thrown in, Will span from Back of front seats up along roofline down to behind the taillights where it will loop around , On the way it will cross at the roof, Then down past the rear glass And also connect via strut towers Will be going Recaro/s or the like with Racing harness of the strut bar + Standard seatbelts as per Vicroads Laws, - Standard lapsash will have a velcro strap or something to hold them along the pillar when not in use, Will be remodeling the exaust from diff back to go straight up the middle, or Duel twin pipes from extractors back depending on how it looks + Cost Will have 3 Lean/Rich Guages mounted on the Cowel panel infront of the windscreen - One for each carbie, All this before the Tassie Targa trip Next year, - Should come close xD! Michael Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 Cough* Progress! hehe, Hopefully done by the weekend =] - First Coat, Rub back then Another coat before Colorsand , Cut + Buff Quote
Michael Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 Almost got it where i want it, ^^ Missing a few pieces of the puzzle yet but will get there soon enough =] O Briens windscreen = Sucky service for $340, hrm eh, >_> Probably abit late now, But whats the easiest way to get rid of this Tarp on the roof of my zed? I would like to keep it removable so i was thinking A Painted Alluminium panel That uses 4 hood pins to secure it down with some sort of rubber to stop leakage.. Any ideas? Quote
