Wow dude. I have finally crawled about of bed after a couple of months of non-stop tears at my self-inflicted loss. Seriously though I am really pleased to see you giving the car the attention it deserves. It will still take a while for me to stop referring to it as 'my car' and sadly I am constantly reminded of how sweet a car it was every-time I take a corner a little two fast or put my foot down in the liberty, it is just not the same. I hope you get the majority of the work done before you get your license so you can spend your hard earned on petrol and not modifications/repairs! Hey guys, Still trying to track down where my 240Z motor came from to aid in the process of buying parts. Does anyone know of a database against which I could check my engine number? The engine is out of a 280ZX, N42 block, N42 head. Engine Number: L28275528 Basically all I need/want to know is what was the release year of the car (280ZX) from which my motor came. I have a question relating to the L28 with an N42 head. People are telling me the N42 head is off a Patrol, while I know the patrol came with the L28, did the 280ZX ever come with the N42 head in Australia. I, nor the guy before me knows where the motor in my car comes from so I am trying to track down its origins. For the record the motor is: N42 block Flat top pistons N42 head (with FI notches on the intake holes) When I received the car it had FI. If I was to get an N42 head from a patrol (provided I used my old cam and rockers) would need to make any changes to put it on the L28 in my car?
