stevo_gj Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Looks good! Anyone have any opinions of their products? I may well end up buying mounts for my engine through them. When I can afford the conversion Quote
Aaron Neubauer Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Castlemaine Rod Shop quoted me around $400 delivered for their RB conversion kit (it includes gearbox and engine mounts) into a 260Z. From my experiences with R32, R33 and VLs (the best thing I did my my VL Turbo was sell it! Ho ho ho!) all RB engines and gearboxes have the same or very similar mounts save the RB26DETT gearbox of course. CRS engineer their kits to the ADRs and provide a engineer's certificate (as far as I know) which saves money in engineering etc. I've been reading the Rb25DE into 240z thread....it's giving me some naughty naughty thoughts...... zedevan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 when i talked to CRS they gave me the impression they only recommend certain engineers who are familiar with their products. it would be nice if their gearbox mount allowed you to remove the gearbox easier though... there is another company in America who;s engine mounts are CNC'd out of a block of aluminum which looks pretty special ofcourse Quote
C.A.R. Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Just be aware that the R32 GTS (unless its a very late R32 GTS) box is not the same as the R33 GTS box... Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 tru dat ^^^^^ the only one which is the same as the rb25 late r32 model!!!, yes they do exist, before anyone thinks otherwise, i have pics of a frontcut with tags showing all this ie eng # and chassis # !!! old film foto but. also essentially the int's of a na and tt 300zx box from the z32 are too, tt has bigger flywheel and clutch but, and slightly diff starter!!!, but also a vg bellhousing, these things are very big and a struggle without some mounting mods in the s30 with later style dog ears for the x-member. nato Quote
