HKSZ Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 How hard are 4.375 diffs in R180 to find and what are they worth? I'm not even sure what nissan they would of come out of. Quote
hmd Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 They are quite rare, I think they were motorsport option item. They didn't come stock with any datto. USD$600 for used one https://whiteheadperformance.com/product/nissan-oem-4-375-r180-diff-differential-used-datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx/ Quote
HKSZ Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 Thanks for that, I've never seen one for sale I do have a few 4.3 R200s awesome ratio in my hill climb car. Would like to change my R180 LSD 4.8 down to 4.3 for a decent weight saving Quote
Cozza Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Subaru used 4.375 R160’s, I have an LSD one in the shed. Pretty sure it was $200 maybe $250. Mind you it’s not in great nick. I bought it off eBay. sigh I wonder if they also used the same ratio in R180. Out of interest where’s the weight saving between a 4.8 and 4.3? Quote
hmd Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) There are different versions of Subaru r180 diff, the preferred one with clutch pack only come with certain models according to Stewart Wilkins. Then you have to factor in shaft changes etc..... p.s I would call Stewart Wilkins in Sydney or Martin Falconer in WA (I bought a used one from him few year ago).
