I have a spray bar but the engine builder originally stuff my cam as he used silicon and blocked the spray bar. He fitted a new cam that is drilled but I have just noticed there is no plug in the end. The spray bar is still fitted. I also change the oil every twelve months but it is really black in there. Thanks in advance for any advice. To clarify the test in bold above: there is NO gallery plug in the back of the internally oiled camshaft? If it is indeed not there, that is NOT CORRECT - your camshaft and rockers (actually finger followers) will run dry due to lack of oil pressure coming from the camshaft oil gallery holes. The plug is available from Nissan. And I suggest you sack your engine builder... peter t and OdinZ 2 Quote

With little to no oil pressure to the cam lobes, I wouldn't be running the engine for long. BTW, the spray bar should not be used - the block-up easily and have a tendency to crack. Quote
peter t Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 Ok now have blocked off the spray bar and have heaps of oil coming out of the holes in the cam but me thinks the damage has been done. Can anyone identify this cam. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted September 16, 2019 Administrators Posted September 16, 2019 It says Crow Cams on it, not sure on specs. But why do you want to replace it, have you confirmed you've worn the cam lobes? You'll also probably want to resurface the rocker arms if that's the case? Quote
