Ponyo240z Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) What's everyone's thoughts on preventing rush on the brake disc hub. Understand you can spray/paint the hub with VHT or alike, I was thinking of just smearing some copper grease that doesn't melt/run onto the rear of the wheel where it makes contact with the hub. Does anyone think this would be dangerous? Edited April 7, 2018 by Ponyo240z Quote
gilltech Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 To prevent surface rust from forming on my nice brand new discs/hubs while the car is still parked up I've wiped them over with one of those clear watery-looking rust neutralizer chemicals, it dulls the shine to a greyish colour but seems to do the trick. One application, wipe on, wait a few minutes, then clean off the residue. I've tried VHT paint on another car in the past without great success. Ponyo240z 1 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted April 10, 2018 Administrators Posted April 10, 2018 Deoxidine or anything called metal conditioner. Will get the rust off. I am using VHT paint on my RX-7 discs on the raw steel area, will see how long it lasts. Quote
