GregTas Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I can't work out how to fit the fuel filler into my 240 and was hoping someone could tell me how it's done. I had a look on the web but couldn't find any info. I bought my car as a roller without a tank in it. I think the filler is meant to be fed up from below but the top bit is too big to fit through the hole. I know it bolts from underneath because two bolts are broken off in the hole it goes through. How do I go about it? Greg Quote
KatoKid Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Hi Greg. If yours is like mine the filler will have become very rigid and not pliable at all. From memory you will need a heat gun to soften up the top to get it through the hole in the bottom of the 1/4 panel and then again to get it through the hole in the fill flap recess. Once you have it in place you will probably need the heat gun to soften up the area where the neck of the fuel tank goes in the bottom as well. Its a bit of wrestling match but not too hard. GregTas Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 (edited) Thanks very helpful. Got heat gun, will encourage it in. Just got to drill and tap out those two broken bolts first Edited March 19, 2018 by GregTas Quote

Was scratching my head after the initial wrestling match, then my trusty brain guided me here haha Quote
