Just noticed some US Zs had a fuel filler door without a key. My car will hide in the garage and I have no lock for my door so a door like this would suit me.

I think I might hunt for one. I didn't find a lot of hits looking for one, so perhaps they were just on some US cars?

Just realised I should have been looking for a 'gas door'. Got a few more hits. So assistance not really needed now.

And some Zed 'gas flaps' had a twist knob instead of a key. So there's another option for you.

Note and I'm not 100% sure but I think the 2-seat flaps are different to the 2+2 flaps.

Do you mean different in shape or just the locking/opening mechanism?

I found on on ebay in US that is listed as 70-78 240Z, 260Z, 280Z. so think it should fit my car.

Funny, North American's like the key version we got...Personally I like the key also, bit more security.

If I had the lock for the door I would have kept it, but as I don't I think a smooth door will look better than a door with a lock hole.

I changed to a US spec fuel door with a generic locking cap on the inside from a commodore. Looks cleaner and less prone to scratching paintwork with dangling keys. As the rubber flap thing only comes out once the fuel door is open.
