260z.76 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Anyone able to let me know what this gwarbox is from and what it suits? Thanks Quote
dat2kman Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Lloks to suit a more upright motor, ie a FJ20 Extension housing is FJ20 What are you doing with it? Quote
260z.76 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Umm well my mate had it laying around frabbed it off him for maybe a manual conversion for my 260z was wondering if it would work on the l26? Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Lloks to suit a more upright motor, ie a FJ20 Extension housing is FJ20 What are you doing with it? I disagree Jason - the bellhousing is L-series. Filler plug on the LHS & rough cast Bellhousing with no reverse lockout - I'd be 90% sure it's a 240K gearbox. Ratios & syncros need to be confirmed however. It's the same length as a 260Z gearbox, but has brass syncros on 1st to 4th. It'll bolt up to your L26, but the ratios are crap. Quote
260z.76 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Its not to be a race car or anything like that aslong as it drives and moves it will be fine. Unless theres a better option to use the bell housing off it onto another common to find gearbox? Quote
260z.76 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Also would you be able to point me in the direction to find a flywheel, clutch fork and the retainer springs for the throw out bearing would be amazing thanks Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 19, 2017 Administrators Posted November 19, 2017 You can get light weight flywheels from Kameari new. The rest from another manual Nissan of the same era. Quote
dat2kman Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I have engine plates for both FJ and L series engines, holding the plate to the bolt pattern on that box will determine if its FJ or L series. Bring it around and we can check. Also have some flywheels available, some standard, some lightened, some L20B ones too ( smaller diam clutch on those) For a daily/street car, you do not want a Kameari lightweight flywheel! gav240z 1 Quote
260z.76 Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Awesome i bought the hubs off you right? I can bring it round some time during this week if it suits you? Just a stock or slightly lightened would be awesome what you looking for them? Wouldnt have any forks or retainer springs Quote
dat2kman Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Yes, got those bits. Message me a number Quote
Howdy Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 yep I reckon its a 240K box. As Lurch said, drain plug on the left, etc. All FJs I've seen have the higher shifter linkage flange where the pin goes through so you can drill a new hole further up and lengthen the bottom of the shifter to get short shift. Hey Dat2kman you don't happen to have a light flywheel for a FJ do you? Quote
