Gordo Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Hi guys, would anyone have or know of where I can get a rear three piece spoiler, bobtail for 240,260z same as this on my red zed, Quote
260DET Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 If this is for the race car maybe a whale tail as an alternative? As the were used on the early 280ZX race cars I suspect they gave more downforce than the earlier bob tail type, Porsche used them too I think. Way less drag than a big wing too I'd bet. dat2kman Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Alha or Topstage dont have the molds for those? Many many years back, G&S Fibreglass in Planthurst st Carlton NSW had these, and lots mre, they sold out, but someone grabbed all the popular Japanese molds. No dea who, maybe Alha may know ? Quote
TomC18 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I think Alfa has it, it looks like the same one as on the racer, but he glassed it onto my car, rather than bolt on Quote
Brabham Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-3-piece-rear-spoiler-nissan-s30-s31.html Marugen Shoukai are one of the best makers of FRP parts. Cheers Quote
Gordo Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Thanks guys. I will give Alan a call at Alfa fibreglass . Richard is on to it. Thinking of taking the wing off and trying the rear spoiler. My revs are down on the main straight due to to much drag. I might even unbolt it to see what difference it makes. Quote
Gordo Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 I can see what you mean Tom. And this would have little drag. Quote
PZG302 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 You can also modify a Group C RX7 Birdbath to fit a Zed. My old green car had one, but was pinged for being too big for Marque Sports. It certainly worked as Turn 1 at EC was flat to the boards all the way through, and when you came off the track the back of the car was covered in crap from the track being sucked up onto it from the low pressure area behind the car. Retro Z Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I think member Biscuitballs sell them Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 15, 2016 Administrators Posted February 15, 2016 This is a copy of the Works Style rear wing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1978-3-piece-Rear-Spoiler-fits-Datsun-240z-260z-280z-/111899331006 Think this appeared on 240ZR's first. Quote
Gordo Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Yer that's the one Gav. I rang Alfa Fiberglass today and he has the mould. Will make me one in the next couple of weeks. Quote
