Moderators PB260Z Posted December 26, 2015 Moderators Posted December 26, 2015 Hi, What are correct fixings for the manifolds on an L28 (the M8X1.25 ones) My L28 has bolts but the L26 that I removed had studs. I am assuming that bolts are factory correct ? But studs would make it easier to reassemble. Anybody got strong views either way ? Cheers PB Quote

Bolts do look prettier though. I like the look of Allen headed bolts but they are not as robust as a normal hex bolt, particulary if you don't get the Allen key in nice and straight. Im guessing you'll pull those manifolds off when you go turbo anyway. ? Mick Quote

Don't forget a smear of anti-seize.That was the original plan but two problems have come up - the bolts and especially heads are pretty much shagged and almost impossible to get under the injection manifold. Much less risk of stripping head threds too. The risk of stripping of threads in the head is a real concern especially given the difficulty in geeting them in under that manifold.
