Just picked up a set of 530cc/min hose-tail injectors for my planned retune on E85. Hopefully these will be big enough, as I will have to make a new rail to go bigger. I do have an 044 pump and Sard regulator, so hopefully a slight tweak in fuel pressure will get me over the line.

I have thought about it, but I spent so much time fixing the rear guards I really don't want to drill holes in them. Besides, the Watanabes fit really well now. Ask me again in a year and I might have a different answer though...

abit over a year now..........what do you recko : )?..........

Any track days soon?

HA, that's paying attention. No I still don't plan to fit flares or bigger wheels. As soon as I get it tuned for E85 (instead of $4/litre 102 octane) I will be taking it to as many events as I can find time for.

Whats happening with the OS Giken motor Ben?

OS haven't given me any updates on those, but I know they recently bought a bunch of L28 blocks (ahem), so they must be going ahead.

Hi Ben, those injectors are monsters i run e85 in two l28 s both make over 160 kw at the wheels and they run 300cc injectors with 044 pump fuel pressure set at 40psi they have more in them.

Good luck with the tune, don't run it to rich as allot of it goes straight past the rings and contaminates the oil but it is well worth the effort.

I f you have any questions about timing numbers just pm me or give me a call at Independent Motor Sports in Morwell.

Probably can't do both, but I'll PM you if it is possible. Loading up the tyre nicely in that pic!

I still have the same system, but with a different main muffler, one of the X-Force ones that is remotely adjustable for noise. Works really well

Now I have the Datsun in my warehouse again I am doing a few things to get it ready for the Nissan/Datsun nationals. Just mounted the Microtech Dash and a Tacho. All pretty easy when you have a fibreglass dash  ;)  Finally got around to replacing the rubber shift boot too - that's had a hole in it for about five years. As I mentioned in another post I also got a new strut-brace for it but like the last one it doesn't clear the injector rail... Also bolted up the all-carbon Restored bonnet to save myself another 4kg or so.

Just got back from the Nissan/Datsun Nationals. Really good event, quite a few interesting cars there. I got plenty of clear track time too.

The new brakes were a great improvement. Unfortunately I never got around to buying new tyres so my 6-year-old Falken Azenis road tyres were called into service. Apart from this (and general lack of talent  :P ) the car performed well. I had a small problem with oil from the diff breather dripping onto the exhaust and making a lot of smoke, so I'm going to make up some sort of remote breather/tank for next time.

My best time on the day was 1:11.918, which I'm sure I can improve on with some decent tyres and a few more suspension tweaks. Anyhow thanks to the Sydney Z club for putting on a great event. I'll put some more photos from the show on another thread. These are just some photos my wife took at the track.

We just ran a hose from the diff under the car to the engine catch can on mine.

Good to hear you're really starting to get the car sorted now.

I've used a small bit of hose running to a fuel filter clipped under the body for a vent for the diff..works well.

I just ordered a set of semis to help my track times a bit  :P

They are 225/50 and 245/45 Hankook Z214 mediums, which on Tirerack.com were just AU$900 delivered  :D

I will fit these to my existing 16x8 and 16x8.5 Watanabe F8s, but they will also be big enough if I decide to fit 16x8.5 and 16x9.5 R-type wheels in the future.

I tried fitting a 16x8.5 R-type to the front of my car today. Without a spacer they don't clear the Wilwood brake kit, but with a 3.5mm slip-on spacer there is about 1mm clearance.

Wow, great price! By the looks of them I'm guessing they aren't road legal?  :D Keep us updated with how they perform Ben.

They are DOT approved in America, but in the same breath they say they are not for highway use.
