Interior Upholstery

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to fix up my interior a bit, since I got my Recaro's I may as well tidy up the interior to suit my lovely uncracked dash :twisted: .

 

I might be able to get the diamond vinyl interior at a reasonable price. The only dilemna I'm having is the colour. It's black which was what I originally wanted sometime ago but have since been considering white.

 

I think a white interior in a red Z would look really good. I'm even considering reupholstering the Recaro's in white(leather maybe?) but probably not for a while.

 

It may look a bit funny having the vinyl all white and the rear inner plastic parts at the back black and the roof door trims etc..

 

My old 240z had a white interior and red paint job and to be honest I kinda miss that.

well i say look to ferrari for inspiration, red and cream (or white if thats wat u want, sounds hard to keep clean to me), i'm going to keep mine cream and have black seats and dash, and was thinking about doing the top parts of the door trim black like whats in alot of modern euro cars but was thinking it might look tacky...i'll wait and see

What about a bright orange with a glowing interioir lights and some fur on the roof!

I reckon stick to black now that you've got the recaros, they look like they're in great nick, as we spoke about the other day be carefull not to turn the car into one of those projects that goes for 5 years and eventually ends up for sale as uncomplete project. Hmmm...gav should I started putting away 50 bux a week for this one.

I have a place that will trim all 5 peices of carpet up in black for you for $50. A bit of vinyl paint goes a long way to fixing up those plastics in the rear and your dash is already done hey!?

I reckon you could have the whole interior looking tip top within a weekend, just by new diamond trim from the US. I think that will only set you back a few hundred.

 

But then again theres always the orange!

Yeah for now I think black is good. I'm trying to get this black vinyl off ebay. I know what your saying about this project taking ages and I think I should take a leaf out of your cap (you pimp you) and spend less time thinking more time doing I guess it's a habbit I've stuck with since being a Uni student means you have plenty of time but no money.

 

Now at least I have the money just gotta be reasonable with it. I had a few other expenses this week but I'm really looking forward to fixing up the interior it's been crying for it for a while now.

 

I can hopefully get that vinyl for less than a couple of hundred dollars.

 

Carpet sounds good too. :twisted:

 

Oh btw next couple of days the new format should be ready to go. I just want to fix a couple of things and upload it then im going to gradually change the look of the site in the internal pages.

hey guys, be careful with jokes about furr....

when i got my zed last year, the previous ower had covered ALL (and I mean all) of the vinyl trim in blue shag felt/furr, it took me over a week of solid goo remover fumes (hehe enjoyable week :-)) and toothbrushing to get them clean (and then i go and buy a new set!!)

 

so the furr is a touchy subject!

 

btw I reckon black is the way to go with the zed (but a well done white job like on a mustang wouldn't be too bad.
