Kameari harmonic balancer

Just wondering if anyone runs one of these as I have a few questions about them before I ask Kameari directly.

 

1) are they a fluid filled damper? From the pic below it looks as though it says fluid type on the damper.

2) can they be used with standard water/alt pulleys?

3) are they under driven? The sell a race kit which has a larger alt and water pump pulley so I figure the crank pulley would be stock...

$460 plus shipping. I did look at ATI's but I was looking for something fluid filled. My new donk will be a lot of different parts so I wasn't sure if the ATI would be tuned for it. I also don't want it under driven too much.

 

There's another fluid one from the UK I was looking at but I don't think it will be ready in time for my build.

I wasn't sure if the ATI would be tuned for it. I also don't want it under driven too much.

I'm not sure I have a good understanding on it. I thought the crank vibrations occurred at certain rpms and were measured as a frequency. So the damper was designed to work at those frequency points to counter the vibrations. So if my engine differs to the build that the ATI L6 balancer was designed on would it need to be altered or tested again to ensure my vibration point is within the specs of this one?

By altering the crank, ie knfe edging/reducing weight, and fitting lighter reciprocating items, ie rods, pistons, gudgeons, a lower inertia mass clutch assy and flywheel that has had its puter circumference weight reduced, the harmonic points will change,

The balancer, whether it be an ATI, a Ross or a BHJ, will self "shift" to compensate for any harmonic.

The BHJ Race series, use an outer ring, held on with an internal circlip ring, the harder it spins the better it lcks on.

 

Keep away from 35 year old rubber bonded traditional balancers.

I found it really confusing reading the pro's and cons on different types of dampers. I was leaning towards the fluid types because the science sounded good to me and I'll have a few Kameari goodies on the donk. It's nice to keep it in the family so to speak 

 

Although if not a fluid type the ATI seems to have been used plenty of times with great success! OS Giken had one on the twin cam. Anyone know a rough cost of the ATI?

I got some answers back from Mori San at KEW.

 

Their crank damper is a fluid filled item. The 43,900 yen race crank pulley is compatible with standard water and alternator pulleys. The pulley on this item is 102mm O.D.

 

The 70,000 yen 'race crank pulley kit' is only compatible with the water pump and alternator pulleys which are included in the kit with a different belt to suit as well.
