Hello to all on the forum its great to finally join the group after lurking for the past few months. ;D

I recently bought a beautiful 75 ,260z 2+2 and am truly amazed at the huge following these cars have!

I think we really took Japanese ingenuity for granted in the 70's and there are definitely a lot of older converts "coming out" as they realise what incredible cars these and (dare I say-Celica's) were back in their day.

I can honestly say this is the most comfortable car I have ever driven/owned.

The only problem I have is cold starting- especially after a few days as she was bought as a weekend car..In order to start I find you need to pump the accelerator about 40 times and still requires at least 3 attempts to start  :-\

Also wondering if it is possible to access complete past history of my car from its first registration in '75  as it would be great to have a record of its past ??

Anyhow- definitely have more questions and look forward to hearing from you guys...Regards-Wayne<a href=IMG_1900.jpg' alt='IMG_1900.jpg'>

Hi Zedman- mirrors came with the car (and they are very limited in their positioning/adjustment),although they do look very era correct- which is why I will probably keep them.

Must admit though I am a little partial to fender mounted mirrors and am giving that look some serious consideration-what do you guys think ?

Re- your cold starting issues

What carbs are fitted ?- if they are Hitachi SU type then no amount of pumping the peddle will help as they have no accelerator pump, the carbs rely on manifold vacuum to draw fuel and air into the cylinder......you need to use the choke which pulls the primary jet down and enritchens the mixture- if fitted then it probably needs adjustment - If not fitted then you may need to refit one to solve the problem.

If you have triples fitted then your accelerator pumps need looking at .

How is the warm start ?

cheers

HI Al-Thanks for the info-yes it is running Hitachi carbs and it does have a choke but idling with choke is very poor so may need adjustment or maybe its just my mindset needs to adjust to the choke?

On the upside no problem at all with warm start up.

Welcome aboard mate

Nice looking bus, also love the retro look of the Hurricane rims, they were all the go back in the early 80's

Enjoy the ride.

Cheers
