Do/Have You Let People's Opinion Affect How You Modify Your Car?

Actually, I'll probably be asking you and Mick to give me a hand to do that shortly. All my mates are now too old to be lifting shells. Hip and knee replacements, pace-makers, etc.

 

I find it easier to fit the shell to the engine.

I agree with Peter. There are always options on body shape. I'm still running modified but original L26 engine and gearbox, suspension etc in my 1976 260z. Only the body from the windows down has changed. It's not every bodies cup of tea, but's it's what I wanted at the time. Sometimes I think that I should have left the body standard but then I go for a drive and I know that this is the car I enjoy driving. I do have a good standard 280zx with an F54/P90 that will stay original.

I love the Ferrari replicas, the Z's already have a great looking shape but this style has to be one of the most appealing ever made. Please make sure there's plenty of updates on the progress Peter.

how many different zeds have you driven?? the reason i ask that question is, not many people hand over the keys to their zed to just anyone to drive and so therefore many owners of early zeds have only driven 1 zed their own, and that makes it difficult for a person to make a good judgement of what to expect only to except their vehicle for what it is ,, Iknow big wheels on early zeds makes them pigs to drive, then someone else may except the fact the car climbs gutters when you let go of the steering wheel and pronounce it drives GREAT>

 

my 280zx feels no different in ride between 18" or 14" wheels other then the fact the steering is more sharp and precise with the 18" and it is far from a pig to drive. I have driven plenty of z cars, I have owned 2x 260z , 2x 280zx + 1 rolling shell, 1x z31 and a z32 tt, I have also driven a few more 240z 260z and z32. as for a big wheels and mods etc on my 260z that wont happen but my 280zx it is getting mods like crazy

hmmmmm, my 280zx has a big exhaust, is better now because of a turbo and also has 18" rims. many more mods to come also.

my 260z however is going to be stock as a rock

 

I think OP is referring to opinion of (FBH) Flat Brimmed Hat brigade .......which doesn't count!
