Ladies

Ive had sugarscoop perpex covers sitting around in the shed and decided I should get around to putting them on..

Just wondering if there is a method of fixing them without having to screw clips into the scoops..

Has anyone experimented with small bracket-clips and double sided tape or some other method... Im just not keen screwing into the scoops.

(Ive got some 3M tape thats used to fix Alucobond onto tophats, awesome stuff.)

I was going to recommend 3M double sided tape as some of that is holding on some eyelids on my Xtrail for the last 7 years and have yet to come off.

Make some small ally brackets and stick them on. Try to limit the air going up and under the covers to stop them from flying off.

Are they chrome trim covers or aftermarket? Would love to see the chrome jobbies fitted. Pics a must. :)

The chrome trim covers I would screw on anyway as the lens and cover mount through the same hole. My nissan headlight covers I got here as well come with a L bracket to mount inside on the nose cone and they recommend screwing or using double sided tape on the bracket.

The large flat area is the nose cone side and the little threaded nutsert is for the cover to mount to. Wouldn't be hard to knock up your own mounts if you don't have them.

I just double checked the covers and what I was told were nissan ones are actually after market ones from the UK it would appear. But those mounts seem to work well.

I've had those covers in the past, & the little brackets attach with the double-sided tape just fine.

The PITA's are the rubber edge seals, but I eventually managed to glue them to the covers for ease of installation & removal for cleaning.

Crap..do I need to have the edge seals ? I only have the covers , unfortunately I dont have seals, or chrome dress trims that go around the perimeter..

Like Dimitri said, I dont want these flying off into traffic at 80km/hr should air rush in  :P

They're just a little 'U' section in rubber, wide enough in middle to take the thickness of the plastic, should be easy enough to source.

Provides a seal to the body & also a soft edge otherwise the square-edge plastic will possibly chafe your paint.
