dat2kman Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 The silence is deafening, secret squirrel applies to members of the ZCCQ Inc who are not in the cool kids loop, apparently. I know, it's painfull isn't it. All this "hush hush, unless you are in the Cone of Zed Clubness" stuff. The bloke(s) involved have assured that all will be revealed,,,,, in time,,,, It wont be same as last time, but you wouldn't know, you weren't there, and by sounds of your plans, wont be around again. Why bother getting your Y fronts in a knot over it? Quote
260DET Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Interesting footage from Robert Gooley in his Evo on the H circuit showing that he hits the same speed around the back as on the front straight, about 210 which is around the speed that the Kink at Lakeside is taken by similar cars. Robert is pretty quick around Lakeside, his speeds would be understandably higher in an Evo than what a Zed could be expected to reach too. So, looking at those facts, it's rubbish to say that the H circuit is too fast or whatever the safety problem is supposed to be. The other thing of course is that there would be much less local knowledge of the H so making it fairer for those who are not MP regulars. Anyway, here's Robert's vid Quote
260DET Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 No interest in NDN15 sprints? And here's me thinking of entering. Quote
d3c0y Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 That pretty much the only thing im really interested in. If there are no sprints i sure as hell won't be driving all the way to Warwick. Car is at the panel beaters as we speak getting a fresh coat, to be ready in time. Quote
dat2kman Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 No interest in NDN15 sprints? And here's me thinking of entering. What? You're saying theres no interest, has it been cancelled? You're in that Z-cone of secrecy, after all! Theres certainly no information on any facebook page, or club website about it. Maybe its all a Fugazzi, off with the fairies Quote
be-zed Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 What is a fugazzi and why would it be with fairies? That's what's needed "pixie dust" . Get this thing off the ground or perhaps we are just not drinking enough red bull at the committee meetings to give it wings. Patience is a virtue or so I have heard . It takes time to get correct information together to be able to be issued out and when I have it, you guys will have it. No I am not in charge .I am just the mail man In the mean time enter the ZCCQ 30th celebration sprint(Lakeside) 23November .Sorry Group club entry is full but single entry at $145 per entry is still open and HAPPYLAPS at $35 per driver. No pressure Mp me if you want details. Quote
260DET Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 The information given to me at the last NDN in Victoria, where I gave a public pep talk for NDN15, was pretty clear as to what sort of track the sprinters liked, all included in a written report at the request of the PreZ ZCCQ. Went to a fair bit of trouble to do all that so I have a bit of a vested interest in what's going on and what circuits are going to be used. C'mon Aub, you are a member of the three member NDN committee so you are much more than just a mail man. Quote
dat2kman Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Sorry Richo, circuits have been set! Aub njust gets told what to say and when. Can't go upsetting the boss fella! I reckon your special vested interest report was filed in the appropriate place. Morgan Park is Morgan park, no point trying to turn a Silk Purse into a Sow's Ear. Quote

260DET Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 "my special vested interest report" that may be the way you do things Jason but all I did was report back on what potential visitors were interested in, the questions were asked in public at the farewell dinner so there could be no shenagins. There was a lot of interest in drag racing but I understand that is not happening which is a pity because it was the younger blokes who were interested and we should be catering for them as well as for the old crusties. be-zed Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Well the Sup Regs have been accepted by CAMS for NDN15 speed (bent sprint or half circut time attack, sprints and regularity) events. All Nissan Datsun clubs have received invitations by now and there is even word that one NSW club will be sending 30 cars .There is no total fee for this event. You only pay for what you want to buy or enter. So to be at the display will only cost $15 if you don't want your car judged and that covers the whole weekend . Quote
dat2kman Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 $250 to enter Sprints $200 to enter Regularity $150 to enter "bent" sprint ie flat hillclimb. $600 the lot if you desire it, Each event is run twice per day, ie two runs per day. For the two days ( practice sessions on the Friday) Class structures and capacities are.,,, a bit different,, to all other preceeding DatNats. Supp regs can be amended, if need be,,,,, just sayin'! Hi Jason, I think you will find there will be an attractive "deal" to enter several of the motorsport events... See attached flyer's that our hard working & very proactive ZCCQ President has produced 43753_2635f6015fe19ce7dba71a07bd8a8d1f0f3bf928.pdf 43754_9553f075ad9b155dd9eaff1dcd2a37e9361646fa.pdf 43755_858024039856d877e2027e58486b92274c71e8bf.pdf Quote
dat2kman Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 They are doing the rounds on various social media forums and pages, got the pricing from the pages! Few are trying to compehend it, due to lack of full information. They are all keen out there! Zed74, whats the proposed number of sprints that each car will get on each f the two comp days? With the track layout/variety f events,, it reads like only two runs per day? Someone no doubt has a running format for each of the two days. Practice on Friday is included? Garage/carports included? The Presidents Posters could do with a bit more clearer info, certainly as of December. Quote
260DET Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 For our visitors who will be sprinting here are links to some incar video of the two circuits that will be used. A good view of the K circuit and the starting setup here And here is a incar view of the E circuit which is basically the K with the new fast bit cut off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ9OBof6P0I. As you can see, there is a fair bit to learn so hope this helps. Quote
dat2kman Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 Nice clear vids Richo! Looking at the track run scedule, in the poster/flyer being distributed, it crosses from E to K, but some events are only using just 1 km of both E and K. Regularity events get to use whole 2.1 km of E, and 3.0 km of K, as it reads. I have nfi what they are proposing here. The Supp Regs for CAMS were a bit different to the usual Qld Super Sprints regs, combinations of both E&K, and running portion of track for single car hillclimb between two timed marks, on both days. At times to be notified. Some raised eyebrows at CAMS! You'll be having a go in the SUV,,,,,,, Quote
260DET Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Yeh it's a bit confusing at the moment but on the other hand it's great work by those involved to get the info out already, certainly there is enough info for those who may be interested to start planning now. If the V8 SUV is a runner I'll certainly be interested in some events, not on that faggy full E circuit though Quote
dat2kman Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Supp regs are now out for the 3 days for this. Got it via email and in pdf format. zed74 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Hi Jason, I just worked out my total event cost as $517 Includes: Non judged show & shine doing the 2 x motorsport events (sprints & bent sprint)over 3 days incl. practice. Garage hire for weekend (nice to have cover) but it's optional & would save $60 if not required. Merchandise package Presentation dinner Beauty of this event is you can "pick out" what events you want to do & therefore how much you want to spend... If you just want to hit the track for up to 3 days doing one event & nothing else its as little $150 for bent sprint, or $200 for regularity, or $250 for the sprints Quote
dat2kman Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Richard, i couldnt upload the pdf entry forms, maybe you could give it a try. Looking at the day by day running of track events, How many runs at each f the three different types of event, will we all get, allowing for the stoppages to change stuff around, twice a day? Is it a "Multi Club speed event" assume it is, as any CAMS affil club members may enter. In 2015 a number of Qld Sprints type events ( multi club single car, on L2S licence) are mandating use of Head Restraint ( HANS), will this be applicable at NDN15? Quote
dat2kman Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Aside from above,, This is on this coming weekend! Although, apart from a few posts of links to entry forms, and later, an extension to the closing date for entries, You wouldn't know its on! All a bit quiet! For those interesed in just going for a look see, a Schedule of Events, with days and times, and a list of entrants and car model, in each f the events, would be a help. And a bit f a map on how to get there. Quote
tir33d Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Is there actually anyone going from here. Because it looks as though I am getting a hell of a lot of tracktime to myself by the lack of chatter. Lets hope the real warriors are on the track and not their keyboards. I personally have been prepping for this for ages. I have a shiny new sprayjob, it even looks like a racecar now. Going by the sup regs emailed on Sunday, the show and shine is now at Morgan Park . Quote
260DET Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I have no idea as to the number of entries but for starters there will be plenty from Q, some pretty quick 240's on the track too. Be great to see a LSX engined 280ZX stirring the 240's, unfortunately mine is still US, I'm Richard The Elder and will be all over your car looking for ideas and available to lend a hand if there are any problems. I live in Warwick now so MP is my home track Quote
