Scotts Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Hello, Bought another Z after selling my pride and joy 9years ago. Down graded from a 240Z to a 2+2 260Z fairlaidy. Been on the road with me now almost 12 months and we have had our ups and downs as all Zeds seem to be. First thing that surprised me was it being only a 2L not 2.6L owner did not know this and I forgot to look.... So lacks the power I would like. Got a mongoose alarm put in from auto**** and been to two auto elections and still chasing down some electrical faults. Would love some advice on restoring the old beast and being part of a club that enjoys these beauties as much as I do. Quote
Scottz Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Welcome Scott. Is your 2L efi and no turbo? L20A Quote
Scotts Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 It's non turbo su carbi. Very fuel efficient but not as much fun as my old 240Z. Quote
CroS13 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 welcome mate, good to have a few more z owners in sydney! throw some photo's up of your old girl! Rudolf. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted December 11, 2013 Moderators Posted December 11, 2013 Gidday and Welcome Some photos would be great, I am sure you will get plenty of "advice" here. Another Sydney member, what part of Sydney do you call home. Cheers PB Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 11, 2013 Administrators Posted December 11, 2013 +1 for photos and yes Fairlady Z's in Japan came with the 2.0L engines. So it's more than likely the original engine for that car. What is your chassis code? GS30? Quote
andoi Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 hey, hope it wasnt the auto**n in auburn, guys there are absolutely hopeless, i wont bore with the details but after a stereo install and alarm on the same day(which took all day, and we had to go back etc etc) i wont ever go to them again, Anyway - have you joined the nsw z club? i was going to but never got around to it, met up with them on the end of a cruise around this time last year, seemed like a nice bunch maybe something for 2014? Scotts Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 I wont name the hopeless installer but it was a large company but don't do sterio and alarm installs there. Mine took two days and i just found my electrical problems are related to dogey soldering. IM in outer western Sydney at the moment. She is a GS30. Photos very soon. Quote
