Triptych Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Just wondering if it was anybody on the forum or if anybody knows the driver of the zed that was doing sprints around lakeside raceway today? I was there attending a skyline christmas charity cruise (my other car I love) and let's just say even though I was surrounded by some very nice skylines I pretty much had to run to the fence to watch this car. It sounded very nice and seems to rather quick. (Sorry couldn't find the photo bucket thumbnail option within the app). Quote
PZG302 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Looks like Nev Munt's ( hope i got the name right) car. Runs a 250 falcon motor and for a "sports sedan" is a pretty quick weapon. Will dip into the 59's IIRC. Quote
Riceburner Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Looks like some pretty serious aero work too Quote
Triptych Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 I did get a video of it going by but it really doesn't do it justice. Quote
dat2kman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Nev Munt, in his Sports Sedan It's a very rare model, a Datsun 410Z Engine weighs about same at a L series, has more pull than a testosterone riddled schoolboy about to get his first naughty. Quote
260DET Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 A road registered 'sports sedan", how does that work? Not a lot of aero other than what is visible in the pic. Not much of an undertray, no diffusers. Quote
dat2kman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 You still banging on about Aero stuff hey? Nothing mentioned here. It must be pretty important, apparently. In Nev's case, along with many many others,, it's no biggie. Plenty of much bigger, and quite different engined cars get registered, used to be very common, nowadays bit harder, requires engineering inspections etc. Some of these engineers are a bit slack, or blind, especially when it comes to hacking away crucial bits of unibody structure, just to fit a whooshbang go-fast turbo. Now, that "Outlaws" class, easy to participate in, open to highly modeed cars, suits the "fast" brigade, hey? Quote
260DET Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Gareth commented on the aero so I detailed it. That OK Jason? Quote
44014 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Oh you 2 girls, when you going to hug it out? Quote
be-zed Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 All this fuss over Nev .The truth is he couldn't do enough for a follow Z owner. Helped push my car down pit row on more than one occasion. He is a strong supporter of LAPZ events at Lakeside . I hope he will be there in MAY 2014. Before you two jump in . NO: Its not so he can be their to push my car around .Be carefull or I will make you two work together in putting a flag to flag event together for LAPZ. Quote
260DET Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Oh you 2 girls, when you going to hug it out? But it's such fun, I can't help myself Quote
dat2kman Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hilariuos, gettin an old bloke all riled up, sorta know it's naughty, but geez its fun. At least we are rather tame on THIS forum! Organise a Flag to Flag? That should be left to the experienced inowledgable ones! Quote
