Hey guys been lurking for a bit probs not the best place to do an introduction so ill do that later.

Just want to ask the question.

Is this guy right? they silver car looks like a 260z 2+2. I tried searching if the 240z came out in a 4 seater but found nothing.

What do you guys think?

Welcome, George is right they are all 2+2s.

Also the rear 1/4 window on that Silver 2+2 looks very odd indeed, it's like someone has been messing with it.

Compare it with the 1/4 window profile on this car here:

From the other thread...

The vent bonnets on it are also not stock, so it might have some body customisations? Personally I don't like the way the 1/4 window looks at all.

Hi guys,

Signed up to post on this one, long time lurker looking for the right 240 project!

I'm on the gold coast and actually drove 3 hours yesterday to go see these cars. The owner is a nice bloke with a huge passion for cars (seriously, outside those cars so tightly parked is roughly ~100 cars and memorabilia - its a full blown museum), but doesn't know much about Datsuns.

I pointed out to him that it is a 260z not a 240z, but he wasn't overly convinced - especially as the other people that have been to see them didn't pick up on it. Since the cable had snapped and we couldn't get the bonnet open to check the plate and there were no 240z badges anywhere he was convinced that they came in a 2+2 until we climbed through the boot to point out the "Datsun 260z" emblem on the glove box.

The silver car is in real bad nick, by far the worst out of the 3. The Yellow one is Manual whilst the other 2 are Auto.

All of the cars have slight minor rust spots here and there but the yellow one is the only one to suffer from some real corrosion around the bottom of the boot latch.

I was looking at them to purchase as project cars for me and a friend (originally extremely excited at the thought of finally getting a 240Z in my mitts) because he wants to do a 260z. The owner is asking $4000 each, or $9000 for the lot. I'm kind of lost as to weather I want to go through now, if it was a 240 I'd have put the money down then and there.

all 3 had cracked dashes. The yellow had a cracked windscreen. The red has the straightest body but the interior has been messed with and all cars have been sitting for about 7 years and thus have gone a bit moldy. The interior on the yellow was probably best but the backseats on the silver are good nick. The red has what appear to be the original rims including spare.

All 3 have their ups and downs and together could make a great restored car. I can't get the pics off my phone at the moment but I'll try and get them up once I get the cord.

Haha , love the R2.5 sound insulation on the underside of the red one...$3-4k each is about the maximum on these...they look pretty poor.

Think about it he is asking 9k for 3 basket cases. A quick search and I found this http://carsales.mobi/cars/details/SSE-AD-2239609

This is a 2 seated like you want. Only downside is sunroof. I would much rather buy 1 good car than 3 heaps that you'll have to flog once you create 1 good car.

Also some year 2±2 parts don't always fit other years. So you could end up with bits you can't use anyway. I would just wait for a 2 seated otherwise you'll wish you got that. Keep searching.
