Viczcar members in NSW, QLD, WA, SA, NT & TAS

Hi Guys,

We've had some really good cruises and events like BBQ's in Victoria. There are quite a few blokes on this forum that are always eager to organise these events including myself. Although the name Viczcar suggests a Victorian based site (which it certainly is not) we have grown to have many members from all states and in hind site should have called it AusZcar.com, still something we are considering but that's another story.

We would really like to encourage other states memebers to get together and have been thinking it might just be a matter of having an intersted member from each state volunteer to be in charge of organising an occasional event like a cruise every so often by posting info on the site and posting any pics afterwoulds, nothing too complicated. We already have a section for each state in the forums ready to go so it would just be a matter of posting times and dates as we do in Vic from time to time, then just post some pics and tell us all about the day!?

If you are interested in being the viczcar guy for your state please reply to this thread and we will try to help out with posting maps etc that might assist!? Victoria is already sorted so we still have NSW, QLD, WA, SA and NT. Any takers?

This is a great move I think, we really have needed this for a long time. The main problem is that our commitee is based in Victoria. Sulio, Lurch, Craig and I (well I'm in Ireland atm). I know there are various clubs in each state so perhaps they can leverage off our exposure by letting us know when and where events are held.

I'm happy to place them in the Club Calendar for 2008 and I'm happy to assist with uploading pictures, creating albums etc...

Let me know the requirements. I can also make interested members moderators of their state board to assist.

We/I might jusy have to go to Sydney occassionally instead, but seriously im happy to do Canbera if we get more people.

Scott, happy for you to handle..I believe that there are a good handful of Canberra zed owners who know about the website that "feel' its only Victoria based.
Ive got to get a friend of mine who lives in Belconnen to join as well, he has a nice 240.
Just  a general website suggestion to the webmasters, could you have a listing of all members showing their location or postcode...maybe a map of Oz that you can zoom into to see who roughly lives in your area.
I agree strongly that you guys have outgrown the "vic" name tag.

Agree it would be a great idea, however the local state Z clubs might get their noses out of joint. I am based in Brisbane, however regretfully would not have the time or talent to organise a cruise (Working 7 days a week, 5 in Sydney).
There are not enough cruises, however would you get enough people out on the run?

As Gav sort of said, we are not trying to compete with other Z sites rather work with them if we can. If your'e attending existing Z cruises in your state it might just be a matter of informing us and we can include/promote it on our calendar also and at least it can also keep other Z owners in your state informed just in case they are not aware of the event. I suppose at the end of the day it's just more Z owners getting together for a cruise and our aim is to get like minded Z owners together, not compete with other Z clubs. So in saying that I still think it would be well worth having a bloke in each state.

Scott, well there you go 3 Z's on cruise is a pretty good start I reckon. Gav will be in touch re moderators rights for the ACT section of forums. You can advise us of any cruise dates and we will update the events calendar as we go.

As oldmates260z said there are'nt enough cruises but if you get out there on a regular basis I'm sure you'll find a few owners coing out of the wood work.

ill take the bridge between mebourn and canberra as i live in albury/wodonga its about 3 hours away from both of them. is there any 1 near albury or wodonga if so we may be able to get somthing happering even if we include all the z cars not just s30 series

Well thats fine if there are a few cars in that area we can certainly post info on any intended cruises however it would be hard to create any further sections in the forums for all the areas in between Capital cities and states so as I said by all means use the forums to advise of cruises in your area. However we need people close to their respectibe state capital as most members would tend to be in the metro regions of their respective states.

PM me if you are a sydney owner, and we can organise a bit of a run.  the only other z i have seen on th eroad here (finished... ish) is an electric blue one in the hornsby area
