  1. Thanks the tip! Will shoot through a message.
  2. Looking for a rust-free bonnet (yep, I know I'm dreaming) for my '74 260Z. I'm in Sydney but, for the right unit, will pay to ship from anywhere. Cheers, Andrew
  3. After having finally realised that this ISN'T the long weekend, I'm in. Looking forward to it. Cheers, Andrew
  4. New dash (pretty stoked, just thought I'd share) ...
  5. Dash & armrest are sorted. Thanks all. Mirror seems elusive. On the centre console, does anyone know if the choke slot is in the same position for LHD / RHD?
  6. Cheers. Growing on me daily. Black is the backup - but let's see in a few months.
  7. Before I go off on a mad hunt for these online, does anyone have any of the following they'd like to offload? For a '74 260 / 2 seater Armrests (I just need the left side but cool if you only have a pair) Rearview mirror + mount. Mine is super wobbly and I'm guessing I need to replace both parts Centre console (do these all come with a slot for the choke??) Dash (yeah, I'm dreaming - but, before I send mine to the Doctor, just thought I'd see if anyone had a refurb'd one already) Cheers, Andrew
  8. Might need a drink for this.
  9. Mucking around with wheel options - and have attached my originals / current wheels + 2 x mockups. The mock wheels are just concept really, as I'm keen to see what black with a polished lip would look like on the silver Z. Thoughts? Alternates? I'm pretty partial to the black + polished - any tips on wheels I should look at? - For the mockups, I'm using vrimz.com ... which is a definite time-killer (I'm sure there are others similar, but this was the first one I stumbled on)
  10. Thanks @Ahoysandy - I'll live with them (the wheels) for a while and see how I feel. Gotta get her on road first. I went from "hey, let's just sort out a few small things" (3 weeks ago) to "well, while we're at it, let's sort out everything - with the electrician and mechanic. Should be rolling in the next few days, with many, many niggles sorted. It should be well worth the wait, and I'm glad to get them all knocked out of the way in one hit. Current location attached.

    Wtb: Headlight Cover

Too easy, thanks @hmd. @Classicman, I'll shoot you a message.

    Wtb: Headlight Cover

Without jumping on hmd's request, I'm interested in either of the new, clear cover sets above (dat2kman or classicman) if either are still available.
  13. I'm in. Assuming the Z is back from the electrician.
  14. Turns out the electrician has ordered the hazard switch as he figured I'd want one. And, I've got the blue defogger lamp on the way. @gilltech - if it's not too much trouble, could you please post a picture of that layout on yours? Just to triple check position. Also, what month/year is yours? Mine is 01/74.
  15. Haven't got to the hazard switch yet. Seatbelt hooks have arrived (shipping cost more than the clips, gah). Defogger lamp & ashtray on the way (the old ashtray had 40 years of butt-grind - well beyond my cleaning ability and/or desire). Plates are on + rego is done. Just getting some niggles sorted at the electrician and will be properly on road this week. Then - seats (new foam) & dash (repair the Grand Canyon up top). I'm outsourcing all of that - but happy to start a build thread if anyone's interested in the "outsource all the work" approach. Beyond those interior bits though (and maybe a couple more), it's going to be incremental fiddles to get the externals 100%.
  16. And here's the TM-1081ZD ... hitachi tm-1081zd manual.pdf
  17. Yep, grommets should sort it.
  18. Dammit. You think they could've stopped at one.
  19. These have got me stumped. Just behind the ashtray, in the console itself. Am I missing something? Or did someone get a bit drill-happy?
  20. ^^ Thanks so much, all good. I'm not sure about the bolts (if I have them, especially the special ones) - I guess that's all part of the fun though.
  21. Brilliant, thanks Gav. Re Mr Powers, I could watch this for days - https://youtu.be/iLKR9tCiwvA?t=17s
  22. My recently acquired 260 (early '74) doesn't have the standard air cleaner installed. I did get one though, included with a small bunch of parts that came with the car. However, I don't believe the one I have is the perfect fit for the early '74 260 (I've seen some air cleaners with 2 x "pipe things", but mine has 3). I've attached some pictures - the aqua colour one is mine, with 3 x "pipe things" / the orange one is a comparison picture, with 2 x "pipe things" / plus, for context, 2 pictures of the engine, as it is now. Questions! Is mine missing the air pump, or was it a non-standard bit of kit at that stage? Should I put one on? Can I use the aqua one? And, if I do put one on (and can use the aqua one), are they all meant to be orange anyway (so, paint the aqua one)? Cheers, Andrew
  23. Ha, all good! I'll sort a scan & upload this week.
