  1. drop off a whole pallet at ubalst in dandenong. even the seat backs were rusty inside - how evil is that? has anyone tried the VHT enamel epoxy spray cans for the suspension components
  2. u r right, maybe it was replaced at some point in time with a later model looks like the early 240s were clean like your first pic
  3. plated 71 as far as i know, there are 3 types - the 240, 260 ( just deeper front rail) and late260/80 with the deeper rail and different cutouts since the airhoses didn't run from the panel anymore also contains a clue to the debate about the black paint - looks like the frotn was painted black at the factory,
  4. have asked nat0 to make me a copy, but just in case someone knows of one of these somewhere removed from my "uboat" 240
  5. yeah, i've noticed that also its true that lots of 240s simply got cut up a few years ago, so that has diminished the supply i find that carsales and carpoint have become mainstream, couple of niche ones like unique cars have had more maybe its on the back of vintage jap car popularity in general - checkout the prices on the humble 1200 utes and the 1600s
  6. thanks do you know what the current best practice is for paintning of the rad? is it engine enamel or epoxy paint or something similar. i took to a place once and they spreayed with bunings $2 enamel spracan , which all came off in a couple of months
  7. I noticed there was mention of a plca in foam st mordialloc in one of the old threads, but I can't find them Just wanted my heater and rad pressure tested and possibly recored thank you
  8. this one looks good on the left side but the right one is different - why? is it supposed to be like this?
  9. ok, more progress, i have now worked that this is a ser 1 (pre 2400 #) and it had the wrong hatch 1. on my pitiful front radiator support. the worst thing is that you can't even make a pattern of the lower part see this thanks to lurch for some leads, i have hope , if not i'm going to have to rent one from someone so that i can make a copy 2. can't work out the story with the seat belt, look like there are 4 mounting point - one in the sill, two on the tunnel and in the roof area i think the early ones came with non-retractable belts, so that does anyone have a ser 1 with the original belts there's a company that still sells the non-retractables, so wld like to know if i can use that thanks
  10. forgot the link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/311009623478?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=107&chn=ps http://www.ebay.com/itm/KYB-STRUTS-SHOCKS-FITS-71-73-NISSAN-DATSUN-240Z-SET-OF-4-/360484133456
  11. they looked like these presumably 74 260z still had the short strut towers?
  12. the strut tubes were filled with some foul spelling oil, which i thought was the shocks leaking, but looking at the manual, you need to fill the tubes with "Nisaan shock oil" 290m per strut I never heard of it? Presumably it's used to transfer heat from the shock to the outer tube?
  13. txfered some cash looks like i'l have to drill them out. what size and type should i use? i don't think bunings special is going to go the distance, maybe i need cobalt or ti coated

  18. sorry, found it i think this is it
  19. ended up taking it to pedders, who cut up th espindle, so i'm going to have to pressout the reaming bits by the way, are the bushes in the front control arms replacable or should i just leve them? http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic20m01

  21. has anyone used any of the plating kits? http://www.electroplatehomekit.com/zinc-kit-sizes.html or the caswell one? or this http://janekits.com.au/product-category/electroplating-kits/zinc-plating-kits/

  25. all sorted better brakes in breaside removed them for me, they have a hydraulic pump at the shop damage is 4x pistons @19 each, 2x seal kits @14 each and 2 bleed nipples all i need to work out if to sandblast the caliper or just degrease the rotors are 12mm and rusty, so I figure that if I get them skimmed, I loose .5 and I will be within .5 limit. i think 11mm is min thickness any sources for cheap rotors?
