  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/73-DATSUN-240Z-RIGHT-SEAT-HINGES-AND-BOLTS-SEAT-HARDWARE-/221825711157?hash=item33a5d7bc35&vxp=mtr you can just make it out in this photo

  5. gavz right. it also has the larger transmission tunnel spot welds have beem drilled out otherwise if fits right over the same space - perahps a racing project for a 240 if you want to fit a larger tranny?

  13. i used this to compare http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-75-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-seat-hardware-bracket-mechanism-rails-complete-OEM-/111726517725 also, i don't suppose you know where the "notify me of replies" feature is, do you?
  14. just got all my parts back from the platers and put the seat mech. together, after having a look at a couple of phots, but something's wrong see this photo 1. the tilt work perfectly - move the lever , the latch moves down, the spring pushes the seat forward. gold 2. however, the teeth on the seat frame dont; engage any of the latches and so not only is there no tilt adjustment in the seat ( why have the teeth?) , but the seat back just moves backwards against the spring. so if i seat in on the seat and lean back, there's nothing to stop it. all the components look original when i disassembled them have i put it together wrong? https://www.flickr.com/photos/62957688@N08/20793323331/in/dateposted-public/
  15. ok, had a look at the thread on this, which seems to have gone dormant i need to redo all brakes and fuel lines so this is what i'm looking at the tool http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291522121768?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT $22 the cutter http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271881384861?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT $8 now, the benders are interesting i think this one for doing large diameter http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331447065990?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT $16 and this one for the tigher http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252037975475?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT whooping $50, now as i can tell, there are all sorts of bends and radiuses on the line - 90 degree, 120 etc, so I'm not actually sure on the best combos also a couple of questions for the experts 1.what's the 45 degrees vs 37 degrees about? 2. how many meters will i need for the whole car (3/16 and 3/8 for fuel) thank you
  16. has anyone been able to take the base off so that it can be replated? it looks to be rivetted in a couple of places, but can't really tell
  17. these are the items that i think need plating looks like the shaft is in good order the yellow spot i think is the brass showing thru
  18. ended up using hydro in sandringham , cost $170 with the ultrasonic does anyone know if the throttle shaft is meant to be zinc coated or is it just chrome plated? the joiner bolt b/ween the bowl and the main body i think is meant to be zinc plated
  19. thanks .. but which type is it? closed cell /open cell/external/internal/high density/low density?
  20. is that the same thin foams that goes onto the backs of the seat shells? where can i get it from?
  21. can anyone help with identifying this part? for some reason, i didn't tag it. i think its out of one of doors, but i'm not sure thanks in advance
  22. plating's come back and working on the braks and the reco heads https://www.flickr.com/photos/62957688@N08/collections/72157654291340343/
  23. does anyone know of a place in melb that can clean up the carbs - they are now fully disassembled or maybe someone has soda blaster/ultrasopnic setup, which is i think how its done
  24. ok, went to enzed and they had a M10x1.5 adapter, which then took a brass nipple insert all fine and dandy, except that the fitting is mild steel, totally uncoated, so that he said he had a stainless version that he could order ( at $30), so i'll keep on looking for a brass version supercheap/repco didn't have anything ...
