Looking more for torque. Going by the advice of others to be honest. I'm not planning on anything too drastic with the L28 as I want to do an RB conversion in the long run. But even just a warm L28 I've been advised against the 40mm carbs. Any other input is more than welcome. If I don't need the 45's id rather not go through the hassle of selling these and trying to find 45mm carbs...

I have 4, 40mm carbs up for grabs. They all come with filter assembly's, linkage kit and 2 gasket kits. After talking to a few blokes on here I've decided to go with a set of 45mm carbs. Will post photos ASAP $600

Thanks for the advice Lurch and Phillay. I'll have to offload my Mikuni's and chase some webers then

G'day Phillay, I've just bought a set of 40mm mikuni's and was wondering who in melbourne you used to tune them??? I'm planning on using a fairly lumpy cam for my build, and I'm stressing that the 40mm carbs wwill not be able to keep up. Is your L28 standard or modified? Cheers Dan

Yeah from the other threads that I've seen they are all common points for cancer. The reason it rusted above the fuel filler is because the previous owner covered up the bubbling paint with duct tape. So when the tape for wet everything went down hill. Minimal below the fuel filler though so that's encouraging. the whole car will be stripped hopefully within the next month or two. Hanging panels, doors etc are getting prepped and painted first then the shell. Which will help with time and spacing out the $$$. My plan is to have the body done and partially re-assembled by the end of the year
-
This is the worst of the rust. The rest is just a few bubbles under paint so I'll have to wait till its stripped before I know the full extent. Couldn't get any photos of the floor rails but will try another time

I don't think replacing the whole quarter is necessary, but I'm not expert. I'll post some photos when I get the chance. I have had a brief chat to Scoota G in the past about rear brake conversions, but wasn't aware he did panel work as well. And sorry I've said chassis rails, I meant floor rails. Just PM'd nat0 then to see if he can knock up a pair for me. Thanks for the info guys

PB260z Sorry its taken me so long to reply, I've totally neglected my own thread. I need both rails, door skins and the area above the fuel filler. All panels are pretty easily found on rare spares, the slam panel from rare spares was included in the sale. Although I cannot find the rear quarter or even just the area above the fuel filler anywhere. Wondering if I'll have to get someone with a shell to cut it out for me which is hard to find these days.

G'day mate, interested in the manual pedal box please

Also thought I would mention. I'm converting from an R180 to R200. What other parts will I need? Moustache bar? Etc.

Hi guys. I'm sourcing parts for my build and I'm finding it difficult to get a R200 diff with the headset I want without someone snapping it up first. Doesn't matter if it's an open center, I have an S13 LSD center to drop in. I'm situated in Vic but can organise a courier for the right diff Thanks for the help guys

If sale falls through let me know ill grab it
-
Was on gumtree for a while but didn't have the headset I was looking for so didn't want to get it just to pull it apart and swap the gears. But with the 4.3 gears in this id be surprised if you didn't get what you were asking for it

If you'll take $700 for it I'll grab it? Can get a rebuilt one for $1000.

240 Volt Spot Welder 4Kva Lenco Spot Mk2
PriceyZed replied to aircobra's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
50 amps is much more than a typical domestic residence would be expected to be able to supply to one piece of machinery. These days houses only are allowed a 40amp allowance by powercore to their property depending on when it was built. And if the residence had a higher supply current then the cable supplying the shed would have to be at least 10mm. -
Hey mate if sale falls through I'll grab them

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Really looking forward to the build I've been in two minds about he z32 seats so the input is much appreciated, but still will try and look for ways/ seats that are a little more supportive. The 350z seats would be awesome but cost wise they'd have to be pretty expensive right? And also yeah I'm going to start with body work, I have my panel beater organised who did my last project and he's also pretty keen to start as well. Wondering the best place to source weld in panels in Aus? I've seen a few on rare spares but not the ones I need, plus they're expensive! Any ideas?

Hi everyone just picked up my first Zed. Been dreaming of owning one for years but was never a good time, either didn't have the money or couldn't find one I liked. Until a couple of weeks ago. Found a tidy 2 seater in 110 red with white interior, like nearly all it needs a bit of work, the bloke threw in the rust for free which was generous. But nothing to serious. Here's a list of ideas that I've had for the build: Brakes: front hilux conversion Rear R31 skyline conversion Suspension: Otomoto coil over weld in kit Cisco front and rear strut braces Sway bar upgrade (not sure on thickness or brand) Interior: standard, LED dash light kit, 300zx seats Body: FIX RUST!!! Weld in chassis rails (stronger), Otomoto flares, front spoiler, rear spoiler fender mount side mirrors, side window ext. venetians Motor: Warm L28 with triple side draft carb set up Trans: S13 5 speed conversion with heavy duty clutch Diff: R200 with standard gearing and 1.5 way LSD Wheels: not sure yet... Let me know what you think, feel free to throw in some ideas/ things that you've all come across to watch out for or wish you'd done differently. Looking forward to it all

G'day viczcar.com. Im a new subscriber and I've been wanting a 240z or 260z since before i could drive but have never been in the financial position to restore/modify one to the standard I would want it to be till now. I don't have the cash to buy it out right till I sell my current car but have always hated the muck around that selling a second hand car generates ('will you swap for my VL turbo?'). so I'm throwing a line out to the community on viczcar to see if anyone selling their Z would be interested in a swap for mine without bugging them. I have a 2001 VU 5.7ltr manual in white Engine: heads have been decked and beefy valve gear installed by previous owner in preparation for a cam that never got done 52mm tripple core radiator with all new cooling system (water pump, Thermostat, heater hoses) Cold air OTR intake Tuned for modifications by previous owner Transmission: Heavy Duty clutch, unsure of brand Rip Shifter brand short shifter Exhaust: pacemaker headers 1 7/8" 4 into 1's Dual 3" through high flow cats and mid mufflers Interior: re-trimmed with blue leather/sued with door cards to match blue LED dash lights throughout JVC double din dvd player Pioneer shallow mount sub Sony Xplod 6" splits in front unknown specs on amp but runs sub and speakers great Wheels: VT series 1 GTS rims Just completed a major service and car has just ticked over 200k. car has never let me down and i love the ol' girl but my ambition to own a Z has taken over. Rather than jump through hoops to sell it i thought I'd give this a shot and maybe someone on the forums has the same idea. Please contact Daniel on 0419945456 for any further info pics
