  1. The other problem child to source is the quarter window pillar assembly. You will find hens teeth more readily... Anyone had any luck sourcing these?
  2. After many attempts to deal with Mr Fickle at All Z Parts and suffering a number of let-downs and then later effectively the business closing. I managed to source a full kit through these guys in USA when our A$ was equal to US$... All Z sourced through these guys regularly and their quality is very good: https://www.prp.com/ Their website has changed since I last looked and is now more difficult to navigate and establish the full set of rubbers for a 2+2 They will sell individual items if required but the shipping cost may be prohibitive depending on size, weight & value. I found if you send them an e-mail they will respond and pull a kit together if you require one. You will need to ask them what the kit will contain and get them to list the part numbers. You will need to know exactly the rubbers for your year model be cause PRP being Amercan will pull a kit together based on the US models. The other possibility is Stewart Wilkins Motorsport at McGraths Hill near Windsor outskirts of North Western Sydney.
  3. I have one of the Z-Power Steering kits. Avoid buying these!!! They are illegal here in Australia. Install at your own risk... The section of the column between the motor output shaft and the engine bay rubber coupling is welded in 3 locations, and unless is proved by destructive or magnetic testing to withstand minimum requirements set by the Motor Vehicle Standards Act and Australian Design Rules it must not be installed as part of the steering column. On top of this, the way the lower section of the column is fabricated makes it unservicable, meaning that the whole lower column section would need to be refabricated if one of the uni joints fail. The welding to the lower part of the column also is very ordinary... I would upload photos in my gallery to demostrate what I am talking about but there is some sort of restriction stopping me from doing so...

  7. WRT the contacts I soft soldered mine... There is a guy in the US that rebuilds both the Turn Signal & Light Switches. I broke the horn contact mount in my Z when removing the steering column cowel - due to it's age - plastic is very brittle. He 3D prints the mounting block for US$5 + US$10 delivery - pay via Paypal http://datsun-240z-upgrades.net/ I've posted an image of the broken bit in the gallery...
  8. From the album: Gyzmo's 260Z 2+2 Electrix

When I removed the steering column cowel the horn contact mounting block broke. You can buy new ones from: < http://datsun-240z-upgrades.net/> they are 3D printed The Guy's name is Dave. He also sells LED side indicators - I'm getting prices and shipping costs from him as I write: < datsun-240z-upgrades.net/products/ > Any one else interested??

  9. I will have some time over the 2016 Xmas break to cobble together and post some pics... Watch this space but don't hold your breath...
  10. Yes, PB260Z I live on the North Side.
  11. I have been a member sitting on the sidelines for some time as I am very time short... I was a member of the Sydney Z Car Club in the early days - Meeting at Hasham's, Kyeemagh... I wrote the article about SU Carbs that is posted on Eric Neyerlin's website - Z-Parts. The site is currently under reconstruction so the SU article is a little hard to access. I own a 2+2 built '76 and registered in January 1977. I have owned the vehicle since 1984 and am the third owner of the vehicle. It currently doesn't get driven much other than to make sure it starts and keep the engine lubricated. It is still registered but in its current condition it tends to attract the local constabulary, the main reason I don't take it out. What started as a rust repair turned into a full-blown body mod project with many nights at North Sydney TAFE with a bunch of MG Heads in the late 80's and 90's hammering and forming, shrinking, stretching and modifying the panels that are now fitted. The only panels that are stock are the doors and bonnet. I will eventually drop a small twin turbo'd Hemi V8 into the engine bay, but that's a while off... I have two days ago removed the dash to have it repaired and modified to fit a Haltech (Racepak) IQ3 fitted by Dash Original in Adelaide, it's on its way there now... I am now considering removing the stock A/C and replacing it with a Vintage Air or similar system while the dash is out, so I am open to suggestion from those of you who have fitted one of these or similar systems regarding best system, shortcommings, problems with fitment. My Zed is a very long term project started at around 1988 and is still going due to family and work commitments. The vehicle is still road registered. So... Hello All!!! I will post some of my pics when I get time. The one you see attached is me welding on the modified rear skirt a number of years ago... Rear Apron.bmp
  12. If you need to tune your carbs, read my article posted on ZParts.com http://www.zparts.com/zptech/articles/mal_land/ml_sucarb2/images4/SUcarb_111601d.htm The flat top carbs are not tuned the same as the Hitachi Round Tops and SUs. In the pics provided you can see a large white screw at the front LH side of the carb (behind the air filter). This screw bleeds air into the side of the carb to lean out the mixture. The jets are fixed - not adjustable. Don't use light duty oil in the dashpots... Why? Read my article...
